Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Staring into the abyss of a world where Nintendo has no games scheduled for release. Edit: The Time of Darkness Has Arrived

I'm sure there will be a Nintendo Direct coming soon.

All I want is a 3D Mario game for this holiday. Give me Mario 64 Remake, Mario Galaxy 3 or Mario Odyssey 2 and I will be happy.

I would say there's a good chance of Odyssey 2 either this Holiday or next.

DON'T WIN ME CHIBI BUDDY DON'T WIN ME.

ANIMAL CROSSING NEW LEAF FRIEND CODE:- 5129 1175 1029. MESSAGE ME.
ANDY MURRAY:- GRAND SLAM WINNER!

In my opinion the N64 was not just the best console of the 5th gen but, to this day the best console ever created!

I would love to see Super Mario Galaxy 3. I really miss those mechanics. Somehow they made the whole Mario universe feel much bigger and more free than it's ever been before.

The Mario team will be 3 years out this holiday season, so there is a VERY good chance we'll see something from them.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Well if we disregard third parties, then both the PS4 and XB1 has had similar droughts. XB1 has probably had even worse ones.

To be fair though, I am more likely to play a multiplat on a Playstation 4 or Xbox One because it's generally a better experience, so the droughts aren't as impactful.
The Switch only gets turned on if there is an exclusive I must play.

Rumors are a Direct next week. If true we will know soon enough the upcoming Switch games.

What I would do for more Nintendo I.P's given the Links Awakening treatment....

Direct needs to happen sooner rather than later.

--::{PC Gaming Master Race}::--

to be COMPLETLY fair, nintendo has been known to delay directs and announcements whenever a national crisis hits japan. whenever a tsunami or typhoon or earthquake hits they've always delayed the japanese side of things, for at least a week untill things return to normal and directs are simultanious worldwide announcements.
coronavirus has been a global one since mid january......

I hope so. I wonder when the definitive edition of Xenoblade Chronicles will be out. Same with Bayonetta 3. I'm sure some big announcements will be saved for the June Direct (not calling it an E3 Direct since E3's canceled due to the coronavirus).

I'm personally not a Zelda fan. I played BotW, but it didn't grab me. Though, Mario Odyssey I loved. It's the closest I've seen to recapturing how I felt playing Mario 64 as a kid.

Mario Odyssey and mainline Pokemon games were the reasons I bought a Switch.

Agree. While I think BOTW is an excellent game, Mario Oddyssey is the true masterpiece game here.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Hasn't it been longer for the Mario Kart team? Also 3 years for Zelda, Splatoon and Arms teams.

The ARMS team is the Mario Kart team. So yeah, they are coming up on 3 years, long enough to make a new game.

I believe the Splatoon Team made Animal Crossing New Horizons.

The 3D Mario team will also have had 3 years this October.

So the Splatoon team is a workhhorse. It seems to me that the Mario Kart team is slacking, while the 3D mario team still has quite a bit of time to work on their next project. Zelda games are bigger, but more details would be nice.
