What does any of that have to do with OP? We now since E3 reveal it was timed exclusive and that most likely would be 1 year with great possibility of only PC receiving a port.

What’s this great possibility of only PC receiving a port? Is that based off any evidence you can provide or just console warz hopes and dreams? I have zero interest in playing through FF7 again on any platform in this chopped up method but I am genuinely curious.

The way it was revealed on the E3 both it and Shenmue 3 had the tone of showing first on PS4 then on PC and nothing else.

And if you read to what I was answering the core is that we new it wasn't permanent full exclusive. And that his rant on Sony doesn't make sense in this thread as the condition of the exclusivity not being full have always been know and isn't something of this past year (that is when he started complaining of changes Sony have been implementing with censorship and SJW behavior).

Ori 2 was mentioned once in this thread, in a post with several examples of games, including TLoU2.

And I don't even agree with his larger point.

Yes it was mentioned once with other games. Cyberpunk, TLOU2 and Ori2. Like if the 4 would have similar impact on the market.

Ori2 may be a great game, even better than the first one, but it doesn't come close to the appeal of FFVIIR.

It was never stated it did. It was just included in an example list of games releasing at a similar time... You're reading way into it. Playing into the warz. Calm down.

I agree that it was widely known as not a PS4 exclusive. Just curious about the “high chance of only a PC port”. There’s no meat on that bone, just an assumption people are apparently making. Unless Sony paid them a lot of money, why would they pass up the Xbox user base?

If you were to ask me to find a quote or source saying Console exclusive I don't remember seeing the term used.

A lot of JRPGs stayed PS4 only even without moneyhat (although some have changed that like Nier if I'm not wrong), but since FF is one that also sells in Xbox (even if a lot less than on PS) and considering 15 was also release perhaps people thought it would release on PS4 only based on some notion that since FFVII release only in PS1+PC so they had some kind of perpetual deal for the IP itself.

But now that FFVII is also on Switch there is no reason to assume that the remake won't release on X1 or XSX. Sony certainly paid a lot of money (thus the timed exclusivity, but maybe not enough to show on Xbox). Will try to see if there were any credible source for a console exclusive.

There is plenty meat based on all the PC releases SE has been doing.

What lacks meat is that FF VIIR wouldn't release on X1/XSX even after the timed exclusivity.

It would mean it is not timed exclusivity at all. The game was made to be forever Sony exclusive.

You don't really know what timed exclusivity really means.

Based on your logic, Sony and Nintendo exclusives are also timed cause they get re-released on their newest consoles.

Before trying to talk me down better understand what is being discussed.

We know since reveal that it would be timed exclusive to PS4 (by the "first on playstion 4"). And he is saying there is no meat to say it won't appear on Xbox after the timed exclusive period, because there is no formal confirmation, just speculation. Some suspect it will only appear on PC after time exclusive period ends, others say it will show in more platforms. There is nothing that confirm one or another, we just know it will appear in other platforms after 1 year, not which they are.

It is already confirmed one year of exclusivity for Sony. After that it will come to Ms consoles or PC. Unless you redefine the meaning of timed exclusive.

I always thought it was exclusive. Guess I wasn't as observant as the rest of you.
