Thoughts on Microsoft Working with the US Government?

Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Thoughts on Microsoft Working with the US Government?

Only PlayStation is going to get hit by special taxes to make Sony consoles more expensive. Microsoft is a third party publisher on Switch, so they'll put in a good word for Nintendo when they determine the future of the console market with Donald J. Trump.

Legend11 correctly predicted that GTA IV (360+PS3) would outsell SSBB. I was wrong.

What if Trump bans Nintendo / Sony systems someday or raises taxes to support Microsoft as a reward?

You can't be serious?

Anyway this is nothing new, contracts like this happen all the time, Microsoft aren't going to miss out on billion dollar cloud contracts to Amazon, Google, etc. Simply because Trump is a twat, he won't be there forever and when he's gone it will be too late, if Microsoft doesn't get the contract, someone else will, typically most the contracts are for Azure/Windows services, providing back end support.

Edit - Cleaned up the title a little.

OP seems to be trying make a lot out of nothing. It was a cloud computing contract, and Microsoft has had a ton of government contracts just like every other big tech business. Nothing to discuss here.

The problem aren't government contracts per se. A problem are contracts with military and especially secret services. And for that it doesn't matter with what country you make such contracts. Secret agencies are undemocratic as they are uncontrollable and private companies shouldn't support that.

The way this industry is laughable.
Gamers want there beloved to only do one thing and find ways on disrespecting them because a business made a business deal..

MS: Lets make Kinect 2.
GAMERS: We dont want Kinect, just make games.

MS: We are focusing on delivering 3 to 4 games a years and wont be supporting VR.
GAMERS: We dont want more games, we want VR.

Damn its laughable.
