Forums - Gaming Discussion - Will Cyberpunk beat Skyrim sales?

Skyrim vs Cyberpunk

Yes, but will take more time 9 13.24%

Yes, in less time 6 8.82%

Never 53 77.94%

Total:68

I don't think so. If we're counting Skyrim as a 360/PS3/XONE/PS4 combined unit we have to remember people HAD to buy upgraded versions on newer hardware. With these upcoming consoles, they'll be backwards compatible out of the box, so no need for remasters of Cyberpunk on the PS5 and Xbox Two.

Also, Pokemon RGB I think just edges out Skyrim in sales if we're talking about the genre of the RPG with 31.38M sold on Gameboy alone. Correct me if I'm wrong. And If we include yellow...yeah.

Unlikely.
Setting is not as popular as fantasy medieval in TES games and 2077, while being targeted at mainstream, seems to have more traditional RPG mechanisms than Skryim (and Witcher, while we're at it), so not as forthcoming to non-RPG gamers.

CDPR is definitely expecting to ship around 20M units in Q1 2020 alone.

Lol, no.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Official member of VGC's Nintendo family, approved by the one and only RolStoppable. I feel honored.

People aee overhyping this to all hell and even if it comes out as the best RPG in history it will not meet expectations. It's time to let it settle until 2020.

I'd say chances are both The Outer Worlds and VtM - Bloodlines 2 alone will be better RPGs than 2077.

Not even close.

Yea, analysts are expecting 20 Kk in shipment in the first quarter alone, mainly now they are seeing bigger pre orders numbers than The Witcher 3 for the same amount of time.

Hard to tell but I will say no for the time being.

Maybe. If the game is ported to every device imaginable including grandmas abacus.

Hunting Season is done...
