Serious issues in your mind. The more serious issue in my mind are left wing SJW's trying to choke out free speech around the world.

If your biggest political concern at any given time is the sjws then you have no political ideology worth mentioning.

ideology is for the close minded. I like to consider things issue by issue and SJW's are currently causing the most long term damage to society. But you keep putting yourself in an ideology box if you wish.

Cheer up least you don't have an asshole douchebag like trump as your president.

This guy is basically trump on steroids. He's like trump if literally everything the left said about him was true but then still managed to be worse

Yea heard he wants to get rid of ministry of science or whatever Brazil calls it (because science is bad!).  I believe he has bulldozers sitting on idle outside the Amazon forest as we speak.

Again, can you please explain how any of this personally effects you? I genuinely don't understand all the frustration and sadness in your OP, when I didn't rad anything that pertained directly to how your life would change. You mentioned intangible things like "Walking in the streets had me nervous, knowing that most passersby likely voted in that abomination " which really make absolutely no sense, as that's all in your mind - those are the same people you werent nervous of yesterday.

Maybe it's because I give the slightest shit about other people. I know loads of LGBT people, I know black people, I know poor people, many of those are my friends and this guy puts them all in danger. In fact, one friend of mine is already suffering with violence inside his own family due to this. And even then, if I didn't know anyone who was affected, I can still give a shit about the people I don't know who are affected, because many innocent people are being attacked and even killed for not voting in Bolsonaro. This affects my life, because it affects other people's lives. If you can't have the slightest empathy for other people and can only think about your own fucking ass, I can only be sorry.

I'm sorry, I didn't realize they were born in those outfits.

Oh yeah, Im sorry, you are completely right. For a moment there, I completely gorgot that every militar, which by the way is certainly not a human being, is a dictator and wants to invade our personal lifes to know if we are straight or gay!Because they certainly dosent have better things to do.We should really abolish all military and police force so that we may achieve everlasting peace.

Then you heard it wrong. He wishes to abolish useless ministeries in order to cut costs, which are through the roof in Brazil. The ministry of science is not one of those though.

Not yet.

What I want to know is why do people have such poor taste for politicians in elections?  I can go country by country and either the talent pool is poor or just assholes run for power.  I've lost faith in humanity.  Just a bunch of assholes running countries with their blind followers.

I think it's just the dualist mentality in the elections. Since the elections always end up being decided on two candidates, people tend to flock to the most popular ones even if they're not their first picks, and the popular ones tend to be the ones with the strongest marketing campaigns, which also happen to be the extremists from either side, because they are more aggressive in the approach. As such, sensible middle-term people always get lost in the rubble.

Here, given the current state the country is in after being governed by a leftist party for the last 16 years, it only makes sense the right-wing extremists would eventually strike back. It's a shame, really... I still wish the right-wing dude running for the last election in 2014 won, because at least then people would know now that the right-wing is just as corrupt and incapable of handling the country, so maybe the extremism wouldn't be as rampant as it is.

I think the only way of fixing it is changing the electorial system altogether. Allowing people to vote on several candidates they believe in would go a long way - say, you have a "first choice" and "second choice" president, you can still vote on the popular guy as second choice, but your vote only counts for him if the first choice wasn't popular enough to be elected. Or maybe, allow people to vote on candidates they don't want, so we don't end up with two opposing candidates who each are rejected by over 40% of the population. It's ridiculous that people vote for Bolsonaro because they're "sick of PT", when there were loads of other candidates who proposed much more sensible governments and ideas, and could have at least managed to maintain some level of peace in the country. Now, however, it's done. All the good guys are out and we're left with the choice of the corrupt left-wing party whose government fucked up the country (though people forget how great the beginning of their government was, or else they wouldn't even have a country to fuck up), or the extremist right-wing fascists who care only about money and will take it at the expense of everyone else.

Well of the 29 USA presidents that served in the military or militias I can only name 3 that were worth a damn.  George Washington, Theodore Roosevelt, and JFK.  3/29 is a pretty damn bad average.

Oh yeah the sjws such a big deal, not the economy, dysfunction and complacency among leftists, fascism among conservatives, terroism, wage stagnation, distrust of the media, the hyper partisan Congress and  voter base but the sjws. Yeah you have all of the political nuance and incite of a feminist gets pwned video on youtube

I'm sure you're well informed on this topic and it's not just your typical panic-spreading.

I'm only informing others of a very real and very serious issue. Since the mid 2010s more right-wing parties like the GOP have been gaining in power, abusing said power to impede human rights, and Jair Boslonaro is disturbingly similar to Trump in his homophobic rhetoric combined with affinity for a dictatorship (like Trump with Putin).

Please share any homophobic things Trump have said.

I am currently sigless.

I think the broader point is that the other 26 did not transform the States into a fascist dictatorship.

@collint0101 Don't feed him. He is clearly being off-topic and trying to spread his usual gospel.

I'm brazilian too. Well, it's either him or Haddad. And Haddad means Lula again...
