The only time someone bothers to post the France weekly is when Switch has top 5.

That's going to be more the norm than the exception, especially as sites like this and Resetera become more Switch centric.  The summer has been slow for the PS4/Xbox1 in terms of new/notable game releases so its understandable that the charts reflect it.

So, it's the abundance of new Switch-titles which the current charts consists of. The OP added the charts for the past few weeks, and it is dominated by evergreens, with new releases entering the TOP 5. This week this new release is Octopath and Captain Toad, last week and the week before was it Jurassic Park and The Crew and the week before only the evergreens were visible. So, why no evergreens on the competition consoles?

The issue (with erratic posting of French charts) is that we technically already have a thread for general European sales (ex-UK, since that typically gets its own thread), but it hasn't been updated recently. It would be nice if we were able to consolidate these charts into one general thread and it exists, but some countries operate on a different release schedule (e.g. monthly instead of weekly, or release on different days of the week).

So, you're saying it would be pointless to post french charts every week ?

No, but posting a thread every week for it is, especially since there is already a thread for it. Or it would be, if it was being still being updated regularly by its OP.
So, carry on, I guess.

Because the majority of the competition consoles software sales are dominated by digital.  If you look at the Xbox top game sales, the PSN top game sales and the top Steam sales, they are dominated by evergreens of their respective systems.

France has always been the antithesis to the U.K. as a supporter of quality music and games. In a just world, they would have more influence in the sphere of global success.

I'm not sure what your trying to get at. 7 of the 10 being Switch is the benefit of the newer releases.  If the PS4 had four game releases released within the last month on the caliber of Crash, Minecraft, Mario Tennis Aces and Octopath Traveler, they would be represented as well (which I mentioned, lack of new/relevant PS4 titles).  The Crew 2 is the last game to released on the PS4 in the same time frame as the above four.

All the PS4 evergreens are represented, GTAV and FIFA sell better than the main Nintendo evergreens, other like GOW and Detroit don't (which I also mentioned, when digital is included, the evergreens of other systems shows).

Yeah, I was thinking of posting this and possibly just doing the France charts every week, but I didnt think anyone was interested lol. Glad someone decided to do it.

It should be noted that these charts are by revenue instead of units and it's also by individual SKU's, so special editions are there own thing, meaning the Wayfarer's Edition for Octopath is not included here.

I was also thinking we could the Italy top 40 if anyones interested in that too? Although I would kind of need to figure out were people keep getting it lol.

Edit: We really need someone to post the European charts on Monday's. The usual guy hasn't been lately I think or update that much.
