We all have some game cancellations that really felt like a stake in the heart as a fan of said series or intriguing new IP. Which one disappointed you the most?

Without question Silent Hills for me. In fact, I'd say it's pretty much the winner by default. Cancelling a new game in a dead franchise from a renowned game director/designer (Hideo Kojima), movie director (Guillermo del Toro), and horror manga writer (Junji Ito) starring Norman fucking Reedus who's demo took the internet by storm? Nothing's worse than that as far as game cancellations IMO. It even had former devs from Team Silent working on it. You couldn't ask for a more ambitious project.

This would, of course, be just one of Konami's many fuck ups over the last few years.

Ummm... pretty sure castlevania: lords of shadow 2 was released... it just wasn’t very good...

That Tingle horror game.

Banjo-Threeie probably hurts the most. I’d also include Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance III, and the unreleased Loom games.

Prey 2 is probably the perfect game concept, I haven't played the original Prey but I would have loved 2 to have been made.

At the end of Chrono Cross development room ending, I was told that I would not have to wait over a decade for a third Chrono game.

This broken promise has hurt me more than any cancellation out there.

StarCraft Ghost. Game informer made it look so good. Then, nothing.

Just to rub salt in your wounds. Takishi Tokita, the writer for the series actually used the plot for the third game in Final Fantasy Dimensions 2.

My answer is Chocobo Racing the 3DS. Pretty disappointed by that still. Tokita is also the creator of that series and he's been teasing  a Switch game...

For me it was Silent Hills. That Demo was amazing...

Not exactly the one that disappointed me the most, but this thread immediately reminded me of Sadness for the Wii.

It was supposed to be a psychological gothic horror game, and I recall gaining a bit of fame back in the day. Given how much I am a sucker for horror games, really wished this came true, but alas, it was not supposed to be I guess.
