What awful news. Solo flopped because fans boycotted it because they didn't like Rian Johnson's episode 8, so they go and cancel the future spinoffs like Obi-Wan and Boba Fett that the fans actually wanted instead of cancelling Rian Johnson's upcoming trilogy?  Somebody please get rid of Kathleen Kennedy, she has no clue what she is doing.

Bingo. Episode 8 was a really divisive piece of work that took a huge dump on the franchise, and it only gets worse with more inspection and reflection. The entire idea to begin with to have separate directors and no cohesive story planned out for the trilogy ahead of time was one problem, but to have the second film basically make the previous one completely pointless was unbelievably stupid.

RJ is absolutely terrible in terms of fitting the SW universe as a creator. He'd be ok if left to cinematography, but no creative input at all.

Rewatching the interviews where Mark Hamill speaks about TLJ is stunning. He tried to warn them and us, but could only say so much. Now he's starting to be able to tell us more. RJ will completely sink the franchise if he's left in the loop. If they want a director that has a good feel for science fiction and human grounding, Duncan Jones or Alex Garland would be a wise option.

It's pretty clear for this trilogy, they should have maybe just played it safe and given the fans a vanilla, safe movie that just checked off the basic things they wanted ... Rey is a Skywalker or Solo, Han/Luke/Leia get to go an adventure together, new cast has to work on a seperate adventure, blah, blah, blah, etc.

These movies are not about making art, they're just mass produced nostalgia blankets at this point. They still would've had a large drop off from TFA though even if they did that, both TFA and TPM had unsustainable grosses due to decade+ of waiting.

Rian Johnson will likely fare better with his own trilogy because it will be his own characters, so you can't get all wound up about "they can't do that to Luke! Snoke is supposed to like the Emperor, you can't do that!" etc. etc. etc. His characters will be his rules.

Hamill was critical about his role, but he has been pretty positive of the movie.

And the fan backlash to TLJ is probably orders of magnitudes smaller then what many percieve and probably not the reason for Solo's dissapointment. A movie that would be received so badly wouldn't exactly top the DVD and Blu-Ray sales charts for 2018 wouldn't it?

KK was nearly fired according to BTT

Good. Better to stop everything sw related and comeback with another team of producers, directors etc.
But I know it wont happen. Sad but ep.8 killed the franchise for me. This from a person that enjoyed ep.7 a lot despite some things I would change.

Is this video meant to be satire? I watched the first 2 mins of it and I legit can't tell if this is meant as a joke or informative as her tone is not set to either of those things fully.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

I don't get that at all. She sounds quite serious.

Even the first 12 seconds just rewatching it, I don't know anyone that speaks like that in the real world.

Could be just me I think she might be going for a American news anchor type emphasis on every word as though they were all important... but.... really.... not .... every word...... needs emphasis!

Thanks for clarifying though, might watch the video at 125% speed :D might annoy me less then lol.

Yea, I can't stand her. Watched a few of her videos in the past and not only does she make it seem like every word is super important, she also comes off as whatever she is saying is fact. Like if you don't agree with my review on this, you are wrong.

Ha, so she woudl probably make a good tv anchor these days. They all make everything sound way more important than it is and also that their thoughts and opinions of events are not opinions but facts.

Is that info legit? Disney wants KK out, but nobody wants the job? I'd like to see some other sources on that.
