This does not prove anything. The Switch is a hybrid, period.

I was going to say they should bring with worldwide at a reduced price, say $250 USD, but then I saw it doesn't include a charger, which kinda makes it useless without an additional purchase, and thus a bit of a misfire.

Yeah, well, but it's got the wrist straps.  That's way better than a charger.

Actually a lot of has been said also goes against what you are saying. This is designed for switch owners already, in the way it is worded and the way it is being released (super limited, without a charger).

Personally I think they need to work on dockless switch and always docked switch version (Controller still needs to be Joycons). Three version of the same console (However I might be minority in my opinion on this).

For familys that just want an extra set of Joycons for $79, they might be interested in getting a second dock-less Switch since they can kill two birds with one stone.

If I had a kid that wanted a Switch of his own for his birthday, and I knew I already needed another set of Joycons for 4 player games, I'd just shell out $250 for this dockless SKU.

It's pretty awesome that Switch is so versatile they have so many options to bring the price down should they want/need to. Although I do worry they may confuse customers by having so many options available that stray from the original concept. Though I guess it's worked for the 3DS with the 2DS line, so I guess anything is plausible.

I was wondering how long Nintendo waited to sell the console without a dock. In Japan that should help the sales a lot.

No, some users here said that it's designed for existing Switch owners ...

You can still charge the Switch with just a USB-C cable ... (dock is absolutely useless, in fact it's just a glorified USB-C to HDMI adapter with extra power delivery)

What "three" versions ? There's only two that I'm aware of as of now which is a SKU that includes the dock and the other that doesn't aside from the different skins ...

I think the poster was referring to potential revisions/SKUs of the Switch in the future. There would be one hybrid version (the current Switch), one that is only portable (either in an SKU like the one being offered here or just a hardware revision with permanently attached controllers in a smaller form factor), and a stationary revision that is just a microconsole. This way they have an option for a larger number of people at various price points.

Who needs a dock for a handheld in japan.its a waste of resources and Nintendo knows it also it will be cheaper too.

This bundle is most probably meant for people who already own a Switch but have several Kids so both can play their games at the same time, not as a new Starter Pack for people who don't own the Switch yet
