I'm not complaining about people saying there are issues, I'm complaining about the words used.
There is a difference between saying "There are rapes in the West" and "There is a rape culture in the West". Rapes are not part of the culture, in Europe anyway. It's something rather rare and serious, never accepted as normal. It's like saying "We have a murder culture" or "a pedophilia culture". Having crimes in a society doesn't mean that it's part of the culture.
EDIT: And it's the same thing for racism and sexism. Obviously there are racist and sexist people in France, but it's not actually an accepted and official part of the society like other countries. So people saying that French society is racist and sexist are wrong: exceptions, even loud and easily seen in the media, are not the norm.
