God I love watching people go fucking rabid anytime someone says something less than excellent about the Switch. We have way too little information to be able to confidently predict it's trajectory going forward and yet we have people acting like they've seen into the future haha.

Yep. I have been trying to avoid any Nintendo related comment lately.  Things get heat up really fast.  And there is one particular user that I've been avoiding his posts like the plague.

You have absolutely missed the point. I also think the Switch will sell better in 2018 than in 2017. My post was about the fervor with which positions are being defended, and the hostility shown to those who disagree. Or even in some cases, those who don't agree strongly enough.

Your condescending tone, and your constant attempts to discredit people who disagree with you as bias while having seemingly no self awareness about your own bias makes you a perfect example of what I was talking about.

You don't see any hostility coming from those who say that Switch will be flat or down year over year?

As for bias, it's the explanation why people draw faulty conclusions based on available data. There's a very strong correlation between blatantly false Switch predictions and dislike for Nintendo. Now if you accuse me of bias, it doesn't really work because I got both the Wii U and Switch right and am virtually the only VGC member who can claim that. If I had a problem with bias, then I would be 1 out of 2 like the rest of the qualifying VGC community.

Not to the same degree or in the same frequency no.

"If I had a problem with bias, then I would be 1 out of 2 like the rest of the qualifying VGC community."

Hey Achilles, want to tone down the hubris? You've been right twice and one of those was guessing the Wii U would fail. It's not that you don't have a bias problem, it's that in one particular coin toss the call lined up with your bias. You're swimming down stream claiming the water is following you.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

Of those though, Kirby, Yoshi, and Fire Emblem are the only ones with significant selling power, and even then they're not really killer apps. They're nice to have for those who already own a Switch, but they won't push droves of new customers to buy a Switch.

I wouldn't count out Dragon Quest XI or Bayonetta 1+2 that fast. Bayonetta is doing quite well already on amazon and will certainly push the console quite a bit in the west at least, while DQ XI will probably be preferred on Switch than on the 3DS in the west since the latter is a dying platform now.

I actually believe there's a great chance for the Switch being best-selling platform for the first Bayonetta. So basically 10 years after it's release, it found it's platform, too.

The Bayonetta IP, for all its critical and fan adoration, has never been a significant system seller, and Bayo 1 & 2 aren't even new games.

As for Dragon Quest, that's a Japan-centric franchise, and surely just about everyone who'd buy a system for it there would've already got it on 3DS or PS4?

Oh no, another week, another thread on how magnificent and how the switch is the 8th wonder of the world.

As if you and others aren't constantly talking up the PS4 as the 8th wonder.

Its the best game device evahhh!! But only for nintendo fans, the rest of the gaming world is laughing about the next underpowered nintendo device, as console at least, as a handheld its decent, but nintendo says its a console, so its underpowered. But its funny to see nintendo fans hyping it up, with wild speculations and theories. In the end it will be like always a from ( most ) 3rd partys abandoned system with some indies and mostly nintendo games, but this seem to be enough for nintendo fans i gues

Have you not noticed the hilarious desperation from those searching for some hidden meaning behind a few images tweeted by NoA in terms of the next Direct?

You seem to be obsessed with the Switch and how Nintendo fans react to it. You doing ok there?

Bayonetta was largely unknown to the wider public when it came out on PS360, and of course nobody wanted to buy a Wii U just for Bayonetta 2. But with the Switch, I feel it will be different. Not only is the first one now roughly 10 years old (meaning many players of today have missed out on it), but since the second one was on a failed platform (where it sold pretty well compared to the install base of the Wii U). Now both can be enjoyed on a new, much better accepted platform than the Wii U ever was, and in a portable manner to top it off. Believe me, that will sell both software and hardware.

And for the software, just check the Amazon Japan thread, where it performs extremely well

About Dragon Quest, it's doing much better in the west since VIII. It won't do too much in Japan since most have the game already there, but it can push quite a bit in the west where it's yet to be released.
