Forums - Gaming Discussion - Most abused words in gaming

There's one that sort of became mainstream among game reviewers and such just recently (was previously a term primarily used by game designers) that is now said so often that it's getting on my nerves, and that's "faculty". They frequently don't even use it correctly.

EPIC. the game is EPIC. the world is EPIC. story, EPIC. one of my most hated words now.

Holy god how could I forget that one.  It got especially bad when publishers latched on to it and tried to market product with it.  Just seeing or hearing it now gives that feeling I get when I remember I'm going to die one day.

"You should be banned. Youre clearly flaming the president and even his brother who you know nothing about. Dont be such a partisan hack"

Teraflops

Official member of VGC's Nintendo family, approved by the one and only RolStoppable. I feel honored.

2nd party.

Innovative.

Openworld.

E for Everyone.

Gamer.

Gaming.

"Censored"

It's used to the point to mean anything that is changed in localization. Even removing Japanese voice acting for English voice acting is censorship.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Lazy devs

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

Exclusive is the single more abused word in modern gaming.

That and DLC

Hacker, particularly on online games.

That phrase sucks.

Good one. If you hear that phrase, it speaks more to the critic or user posting it, it demonstrates their complete and utter lack of knowledge about how the video game industry works.
