Getting a sharp, progressive image out of your Dreamcast requires only a few steps and a VGA connection. Some displays lack this input, however, and if you want to capture the footage you might run into issues. In this video I rundown the Dreamcast video options, review several products for getting razor sharp VGA out of the device, and suggest a few products for taking the DCs 480p image up to 1080p for crisp HD capture and display!

My Dreamcast is in HD thanks to a cheap 15 dollar converter box off Amazon. I just plug the VGA into the box and from there the HDMI into the TV. So my DC sits next to my HDTV and play them in 1080P.  The box is powered as well,meaning it does require it to be plugged into an outlet.

Althought the one pictured here is now different. Seems to be the same one. VGA goes in one side HDMI out the other and powered.

I mean self powered, this has a power supply.
