Alrighty, we all love contemplating the future on this sight so here's my latest thought. Historically, I have almost always been supportive of Nintendo's "innovation first" mentality when it comes to their hardware. I loved how much the Wii/DS line changed up the industry compared to the GC/GBA. I loved how you could take the Wii U tablet to the bathroom and the kitchen, and I somewhat enjoyed the 3d effect of the 3ds (though not in years). The Switch, in my opinion, is their greatest innovation ever. It has better motion controls than the wii (and WAAAY less clunky) and is the most convenient device I've ever owned other than a handheld (but the fact that it can player full fledged games makes up for that).
In reality, the Switch is an evolution of the wii u gamepad. It looks so similar, but functions much better both in power, energy, ability to go anywhere, and connecting EASILY to a television.
This all leads me to something I've realized about my desire for Nintendo in the future; I just want them to keep making stronger versions of what they started with the Wii U and the Switch. I don't ever want to go back to a lame console that you can't take on the go or plug in easily to a tv. Let the Sony and Microsoft fans hall around tons of massive hardware. I basically want the Switch to be the new playstation (better hardware each time, but not changing up the formula too much), because, at least in my current mindset, I can't imagine enjoying a system more than I do this small, convenient, incredibly mobile device.
What say you?
