Ok so the new rumours are saying Super Mario All Stars 2 announcement is coming out this week

If it's true I think we all can give up a full Nintendo Direct coming this year, they're gonna make individual teasers like they did with Origami King e Pikmin 3

Maybe individual teasers is the best they can do with how difficult this year has been everywhere.

I have to imagine it's a conscious choice; they presumably had an E3 Direct more or less complete, and while I don't doubt it was composed in part by some of the stuff we've seen since I suspect much of that content remains in reserve. I wonder if the new leadership just likes the current announcement format? Directs were Iwata's baby, no?

An E3ND would have been done with what ever their original scheduled plan was but as C19 did away with every companies plans I imagine it was scrapped and this format was chosen as it was easier to stay within the plans of the singular announcements.

Individual announcements gives them more flexibility to make a schedule and don't put pressure on them to reveal content that is coming in 8 months or more and may not have a nice footage/information yet

Maybe they are testing this format to know whether individual teasers helps or muddle their AAA titles hype

To help B-list 3rd party games and indies they are still using Direct brand to they can get some spotlight, otherwise they would just pass ignored

I'm sure they will use Direct brand to very few big announcements, like a Switch New, Pro, Deluxe or whatever maybe early next year

Most of those are old ports, low budget scraps, or just DLC.

And I enjoy a wide range of games, from platformers to action adventure to arcade racers to shooters, Nintendo is simply not offering much this year.

But apparently I'm not allowed to be dissatisfied, or I'm attacked and told I'm "whining".

But you're always dissatisfied, you have been repeating yourself since I joined which is going on 8 years.

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

Going back to the singular announcements this may be something they've been playing around with for a while possibly for games that are of a certain tier or possibly a strategic element behind it with them in future doing NDs then a month later dropping an announcement. An example could be they do an E3ND showing their main line up in the year then in July they drop an announcement of Golden Sun (example) releasing in September that wasn't in the E3ND, although a fan favourite series it's obviously not on the same mainstream power as the evergreens so such an announcement is more suited for such titles.

In his defense...a lot of people around here do the same thing. I see it with a bunch of people and have been prone to it myself in the past. I generally tend to be pretty optimistic but I'm particularly harsh on Microsoft and Xbox stuff. It's just an internet thing, not a curl-6 thing.

My Console Library:

PS5, Switch, XSX

PS4, PS3, PS2, PS1, WiiU, Wii, GCN, N64 SNES, XBO, 360

3DS, DS, GBA, Vita, PSP, Android

The best things I have played on Switch this year are either old ports or remakes. Pretty pathetic year. 2019 was truly special.

As long as their next project has better art direction than Xenoblade 2 ...

Yesterday I played DQ XI on handheld mode for the first time

Does not look so good undocked because of the lower resolution, but it has stable framerates and pretty much the same textures, Enix did a very good job

Now release Kingdom Hearts your assholes
