Maybe individual teasers is the best they can do with how difficult this year has been everywhere.

I have to imagine it's a conscious choice; they presumably had an E3 Direct more or less complete, and while I don't doubt it was composed in part by some of the stuff we've seen since I suspect much of that content remains in reserve. I wonder if the new leadership just likes the current announcement format? Directs were Iwata's baby, no?
