Really? I don't remember him ever saying that. However, Melee is one of my all-time favourite games, so I'd definitely be up for that!

I understand many people who buy a switch didn't own a WiiU but I did and I would like to see more new titles and not re-releases from recent games, but if its not a lot of work I guess they could do it.

Anyway I voted No because it wouldn't be something I would personally be interested in picking up again since the graphical difference between the Wii-U and Switch is so small and already own the game on WiiU with some nice gamecube controllers

Melee HD with a whole new set of "Melee amiibo" to go with it. Maybe this would finally unify the Smash community under one banner.

I haven't played Melee, but I'd rather have a new Super Smash Bros.

It would be nice to see a Smash game that combines the best elements from all previous games (for instance, SSB4 was better than Brawl overall, but Brawl had a good story).

If they released a 1080p version of Melee for the Switch I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

That being said, I don't think it is really necessary. There are millions of copies of Melee in circulation and tens of millions of Wiis and GameCubes that can play it. Everyone who wants to play it is probably still playing it. Everyone else is probably satisfied by what Smash 4 or (untitled Smash Bros project for Switch) offers.

It'd be nice to get it playable on a modern TV with low input lag or something I guess.

No. I'd prefer a new one more similar Brawl, than a remake of Melee.

Why bother. Make a new smash. and have options for all the games settings. Melee mode enables all the wave dashings and mechanics from it. 64 mode enables their physics and game settings. Maybe even the original models and stages too. It be a better option. Than remaster Melee.
