Forums - General Discussion - Last person alive from 1800s has died...

Damn, to go from no TV at all to being able to watch something that is happening on the other side of the world on a little thing that can fit in the palm of your hand.
Quite impressive, indeed. RIP

RIP. Still 2 people alive from 19th century, but the last person from the 1800s has passed away.

Edit: Why are there articles claiming she is the last person from the 19th century? https://www.rte.ie/news/world/2017/0415/868005-morano-oldest-woman/

It must be crazy to live through so many periods of time in one lifespan. Must be strange going from no cars to having cars run off of electricity

lol, so many mindblowing things she saw during her lifespan and you say cars? lmao

She lived to see Hitler, the Ottoman Empire, formation of Israel, first black US president, the Cold War, and so much more. Idk why cars were the first things I thought of

Official records of births and deaths of people born claim the last people from the 19th century. There are people in South America, Africa and Asia with no records that are close to 150 years of age.

No, the 19th century ends on 31 december 1900, so all people born in the year 1900 are born in the 19th century.

Please, this is basic knowledge.

What are you talking about? How does that contradicts what any of us said? From 1801 to 1900 we are talking about XIX (19th) century, if someone was born the 1800s (in this case 1899) it was born on the 19th century.

Basic knowledge indeed.

VERY doubtful. The oldest human on record has reached an age of 122 and you claim that there are people who are.. 25 YEARS older. I don't doubt there are old people in these continents, maybe even older than the French lady who currently is the record holder, but come on, there's no one close to 150 years alive.

You're joking right? The quality of your posts and threads on here makes me fear you're serious, are you really 27?

"Morano, who lived in northern Italy, was born on Nov. 29, 1899, four years before the Wright brothers first took to the air. Her life spanned three centuries, two world wars and more than 90 Italian governments."

Haha.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

1800s may refer to:

  • The period from 1800 to 1899, almost synonymous with the 19th century (1801–1900)
1800s is not the same thing as the 19th century. That's what the OP said. Everyone from the 1800s is dead. Two people from the 19th century are still alive, while these articles said they're all dead.
