it should be bundle with the JoyCon for £75 - that is the Switch stronger point for the casual!

Ha, 1-2 Switch could be $1 and I still wouldn't buy. I hope it fails so Nintendo doesn't bother wasting any more time and resources on these types of games. Hate me for it.

I think one of the biggest issues that the word of mouth effect won't even be given a chance because I don't know how much of Nintendo core userbase (Switch Early adopters) will be comfortable spending so much money on that game. 

You mean as a system seller? It's possible but I doubt it.

Part of the reason is Wii Sports. Millions of people bought a Wii for it, they played it, then they put it in the closet because they now know that they prefer watching TV to interacting with it. These people are done with home consoles. If they really do need a party game, they'll be fine with just dusting the Wii off rather than playing $400 for cow milking.

In addition, unlike sports, most of the games on 12Switch seem like they would be amusing once or twice at the most.

You never know, though. The general public is weak to viral. Sometimes they make poor buying decisions simply because they hate being left out.

I think we here are seriously underestimating it. While it won't be close to what Wii Sports was, I can see it being a big hit with casuals and even the 'hardcore' who like motion controls. Silly fun is still fun.

No, I hardly think so. This isn't 2006 any more, so any and all mention of Wii Sports is useless. Look at how the fitness games and party titles on Wii U did compared to the Wii, the attach rates and overall sales were horrible. The market for local multiplayer party games on home consoles is simply irrelevant today, and I can't imagine that having a portable aspect will help much in the face of the all conquering smart devices.
If anything, people are overestimating the title, especially at that ridiculous price and with it not even being a pack-in from the start.

Thinking that casuals will come streaming in over the prospect of milking cows, waving imaginary swords and eating non-existent hamburgers and sandwiches is odd to me, really odd.

I think it would have serve their cause better as a pack-in title with the console. I don't know how many people will be compelled to find the time and opportunity to try it somewhere, or roll the dice on actually buying it without trying it. People are largely followers though, and if it manages to gain some momentum, it could start to drive interest and sales. I don't expect it to have the appeal or success of Wii Sports. I'm not sure that many games could. 

It doesn't appeal to a lot of gamers but if Nintendo is still trying to focus on the casual market, then it means less games I would be interested in

but of course, if they can grab back some casual gamers, then it would be really good overall
