Which of the big three would leave console gaming first?

Nintendo 77 21.57%

Microsoft 252 70.59%

Sony 28 7.84%

Total:357

MS. They seem to be more focused on releasing their games on PC and Minecraft on everything. I'm sure they are seeing the profits EA are making.

if the scorpio fails, i can see microsoft making the next xbox , basically a steam machine, or abandoning it all together, as for Nintendo , If the switch fails they might have another go with a 3ds successor.

I have the feeling Microsoft is drifting ways towards PC gaming. Considering they like to dominate in every market they enter, and they have had to play catch up against Sony in both profits and sales, I don't think the XBox as a console-only brand can last that much. The profits from the XBox Live are probably the only thing keeping Microsoft from turning XBox into just W10 PCs.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

MS. They're the only ones rich enough that doesn't need to be in the video game market.

Sony needs this because it's their best brand that helping make money.

Nintendo needs this because they have nothing else.

Are you sure? Because EA seems to be constantly swimming in green, and I haven't heard of Microsoft doing the same with their games (besides Gear of War and Halo).

Im sure Minecraft is making alot of money for them.

I doubt playstation is going anywhere.... even if sony went belly up someone would buy the playstation brand, and continue it.

If Nintendo's switch is a huge flop.... I could see them going mobile / 3rd party.

Microsoft seem to want to just have a windows box... eg. just a traditional pc, with windows be the "xbox" of the future. In that sense I could see microsoft leaveing it.

Its between MS or Nintendo imo.

Probably MS. It looks to me they're starting to lose their space in the industry. They don't look to warrant enough games to buy it over a PS4 (especially with the recent cancellation of games), and with them putting more games on PC, it makes me wonder why they bother continuing to make consoles.

Microsoft for sure.

Microsoft seems obvious, I mean all Nintendo is, is gaming and they have billions in the bank, what else would they do with it. Also the main people working at Nintendo cherish their IPs with their hearts, I mean a world with Miyamoto without Mario is a world I do not want to live in. Also Nintendo own the biggest IPs in existence.

Nintendo will only leave if they're forced to, I.E the Switch selling terribly too.

With Microsoft it's hard to tell, they may very well just start to push PC's that essentially act as consoles. Small Form Factor, and modifications to make Windows 10 user friendly with a Gamepad, and other fancy things.

With Sony, the PS5 is coming... but after that? Well it depends how technology continues to advance, but an all cloud future for both Sony and Microsoft wouldn't be unimaginable.
