Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Eurogamer: Zelda's launch timing in Europe is still unclear.

" In short, Zelda will release in March in North America and Japan. Zelda's launch timing in Europe is still unclear. Nintendo of Europe, which will be impacted most by this change, had previously pushed for as long a period of testing and localisation as could be allowed and had been working to the proposed schedule of a global launch after the Switch itself.

One source tells Eurogamer that Japan had always wanted the game to launch in March, and had been uncomfortable waiting until later. Another source says the decision to move ahead with March regardless of Europe was only finalised by committee at the end of last year. It remains to be seen how the new March timing will affect Zelda in Europe. The best case scenario is, of course, that Nintendo moves whatever resources it has available onto the game to ensure it is ready in March in all European territories. Zelda's positioning as a key launch title suggests this is likely."

Damn it, that's not what I wanted to hear. Hopefully it still comes out in March in Europe.

So the games going to be hard to obtain because everyone in europe is going to import it! Get yo pre-orders in now.

But really in this day and age.... I can't see Zelda being delayed in Europe to any substantial degree...

Better be there at the fucking launch!

Quality management right there.

Come on! Why Europe only? It's because of the localization and translation?

You know it deserves the GOTY.

I blame Brexit.

Damn, sorry guys. On the bright side, Switch is said to be region free so just import it.

Why Sony and MS never have problems with localizations and translations. They should release the english version first and then the other languages as an update. Nintendo should stop treating gamers like they are children who cant read english.

The majority of people in the world can`t read English though...

In the EU they can, According to a study in 2006, 51% of EU Population have suficient english skills to hold a conversation.

Among gamers I'd say that figure is probably higher, as it'll mainly be the elderly population that cannot speak english.

Regressing back to a time where staggered release of big games is OK is something i can't support. If Nintendo can't get BOTW out in Europe out during the same launch-window as the US then i can't support the Switch
