Yeah, good point. Look at Nintendo, reviving the Japanese home console industry with a handheld.

Dammit, you're right! How didn't I see it before? XD

You know it deserves the GOTY.

So you thibk ps4 will stop selling now?

Surpsied to see you here (not really). What people are really saying, its going to crush PS4 in overall sales in Japan.

There will still be an audience for PS4 in Japan because of exclusives. But it will be bad for Playstation if those exclusives start making... the switch.

Lets first  swe if the "switch" can even run games like ff15,kh3 etc.

And lets nor forget ff7 remake now THAT  game is going  to murder everything  in japan.

Hopefully it revives the Japanese console market and software output. I'm hoping for a return to the good old PS2 days of robust mid budget Japanese titles.

Altough I think the Switch will not outsell the Xbox one or Ps4 in america I have to say this topic is completely right.

The Switch will 100% be the best selling console in Japan.

If Nintendo market it properly, and get the support it seems it is getting, it will definely kill it.I mean, kill not only the 3DS and Vita there, but also PS4.I mean, it has that potential.

No, thats not how it works. Even in a prefect scenario where the Switch sells 20 million+ units in Japan, the PS4 will still do fairly well for 2 big reasons: 1. It will have full Japanese support, as developers cannot make it in the west without the PS4 (lets be honest, anyone thinking that the Switch is a threat for the PS4 is simply put nuts) 2. Its pretty much confirmed that the Switch is weaker than the PS4, so software support will be differentiated.

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

Let's not count our chickens before they hatch.

Splatoon, Monster Hunter, Dragon Quest, Pokemon, Mario..... Yup, it's safe to say it's going to extremely well in Japan.

Yup, Switch will absolutely dominate everything in Japan! Could this possibly be the revival of the console market in Japan?!

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

Worldwide?Sure.Japan? Not at all.I mean, 3DS is far more popular there than PS4.Hell, Vita total sales are still higher there than the PS4.

I dont mean that PS4 sales will fall off a cliff.Of course it wont. But if you compare Switch and PS4 in Japan, Switch has the potential, and its just the potential, of outselling week-by-week sales of the PS4 and eventually sell so much more than the PS4.I mean, it potentially appeals to handheld and console fans, and as a handheld, it is impressive. So 25+ million is really possible there, since Vita owners and 3DS owners could jump to it.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.
