I think so. If Zelda 1 counts as one of the earliest influential open world games then Windwaker is definitely open world.

Yes, I would consider it an open world, though some people don't :/

Very hard decision, I voted so that the games get a little push. Means that my top 5 is changeable. ^^

1 - Dark Souls
2 - The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
3 - Gothic 2
4 - Grand Theft Auto V
5 - Bloodborne
