I don't think I'm necessarily interested in the Neo. If I switch I want to go with a bargain rather than with the newest hardware. Plus, I don't have a 4k TV and I don't think I'll buy one for a long time. I'm thinking my switch would be around Black Friday. Sell my Xbox if possible before hand then get a good Black Friday deal with the PS4. But again, I'm a big College Football fan and for that I would like the ESPN Watch app which appears to not be available on PS4. PSVue is not an option because I'm not interested on TV. I have subscriptions to Netflix, Amazon, and Hulu for that. It's the limitation of the ESPN app that is stopping me from that jump since I use it with my brother's Uverse account information.

This makes me think that MS might have an exclusive deal with Disney for the WatchESPN app, so you are out of luck in that regard if PSVue is out of the question for you.y

Isnt the app also on xb360? If so he could get a cheap x360 and a ps4.

Why not just have both consoles? Assuming money isn't the issue.

X1 is my primary machine, but I like having the PS4 around to play a few notable exclusives.

Hence, it doesn't take a ton of time play the average AAA game.

Actually not anymore. Support for it was discontinued earlier this year.

First off, congratulations on the upcoming wedding!

Secondly, I'd wait for the holidays. That way you'll know more about the NEO and at the very least be able to get a deal.

Thirdly, while it's true that the Wii U does have some media apps. They are way slower to use than on the PS4. So I can't really recommend the Wii U as a multimedia console.

Fourthly, Vue is definitely something I would look into. It's a little more money than Sling, but a far better service.

Finally, welcome to the club!

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

$35 a month on Vue gets you most of the cable channels everyone like, plus a ton of sports channels.

PS4 doesn't have SlingTV, but considering its inferiority to Vue, it's not really a problem.

Just get both, no reason to limit your self. Take what you like from one and what you like from the other. I own many systems and have a busy life, doesn't mean I won't use them.

Never sell current gen hardware, be patient and just buy the PS4 when you can afford it.

No if its bad he should sell it.

He could always play the superior version of multiplats on his ps4 and the exclusives.

I agree with the sentiment that you shouldn't get rid of hardware just because I think consoles are always more valuable to own them anything you would get for getting rid of them.

But, I totally understand not having enough time to make two consoles worth while. The number one thing keeping me from buying an Xbox One is that I just don't have the time to play all of the games I'd want for both systems. So, I don't think he should get rid of his Xbox One, but I could see packing it up if he's not going to be using it.
