Forums - Microsoft Discussion - I feel like this video from 2013 proves pretty relevant to the current xbox situation.

Was the reveal of the Xbox One the beginning of the end? lets look at the facts of the current xbox situation

1. No real exclusive games. (no reason to buy an xbox) All games are coming to windows 10.

2. Announcing  project scorpio as a means to end generations(essentially a gaming pc)

3. no major new content was announced at e3 this year.

Things Microsoft fixed

1. price

2. no always online

3. no kinect required

4. allowing used games

I recently bought an xbox one in march and the whole situation is still very disappointing to me. It makes me regret even buying my xbox one since it seems like it was just a waste of money at this point. What you you think? where is the future of xbox going? Does it have afuture?

Well... Its exclusive to MS platform... You arent gonna play Gears of War on Playstation as an example. If you have a gaming PC, then yes, there is no reason to get an x1. But if you dont which many dont, then you cant play those games either ways. The cheapest option to play those games will always be buying an x1 so I think xbox will be around for a while. I havnt watched the video cause I m out atm btw.

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

I don't see how you're disappointed, you got exactly what you bought. The fact that most X1 exclusives will end up on PC is also nothing new.

I feel like you miss the point. The xbox one has no real value now. I can just play the stuff on my pc now so my purchase was kinda pointless. I bought it for the exclusives but then microsoft decided to make their games multiplatform.

I already have a ps4 for exclusives and multiplatforms and a pretty decent gaming laptop.

That's exactly what I said. Every X1 exclusive ever was rumored to turn up on PC eventually. The only reason ever to buy an Xbox was if you didn't have a PC. The recent statement of Microsoft didn't really change anything.

Then sell it, and buy the games on PC. Or hold onto it and you can have a copy of whatever game for both PC and X1. If you like playing splitscreen, keep it for the games like Gears 4. Doesn't really matter either way.

I don't own an Xbox One but this "no exclusive" thing is so ridiculous. I don't have a gaming PC. I only game on consoles so the fact that these games are on a PC means nothing. I can't buy them for my PS4. I can't buy them for my Wii-U. They're console exclusive and only people who actually OWN a gaming PC and console are in the situation where Xbox One games aren't exclusive.

The vast majority of console owners (almost all) don't own a gaming rig. Hell, the vast majority of them don't even read/keep up with gaming news. They don't come online to places like this. They're not informed. They couldn't even tell you what a JRPG stands for lol. So arguing that Xbox One's games are on PC and thus, makes them not exclusive doesn't have much impact.

If they were on PS4... then sure.

Then go spend a thousand on a gaming pc and sell your xbox to some one who will actually make use of it.

Xbox has done just fine for me this gen. I'm more than impressed with what I have been playing.

Why is there an issue for you that the games will also be available for PC? The games don't loose value because you get more option, so where is the loss? You will have the opportunity to play MS games on PC and X1, meaning you could have them in separate rooms for example. Or you could sell the X1 and still get a bunch of MS exclusive games that aren't on Sony or Nintendo consoles. It's a jackpot for any MS fan, and potentially big for MS themselves since now Sony and Nintendo fans might discover their games as well :).

but all those "console exclusive to PS4" games apparently didn't count before so time for equal treatment for Xbox!
