The NX may even feel like two hardware releases if they do the fusion thing. Exciting indeed!

Edit: I wonder if vgchartz will do graph trackings of console variations? If your going to count the NX as a new bar, then it's hardly fair to not also count the neo and Scorpio as a new bar.

Neo and Scorpio are gen 8 and NX will be gen 9 so Vgchartz really has no choice, even if they wanted to do something else, but to seperate them. Sony and Microsoft themselves have said these are the same machines. They've gone out of their WAY to assure gamers and the public that theses are Xbox Ones and PS4s... not Xbox Twos and PS5s. Those come down the line so only Nintendo is releasing a brand new machine with an entirely new concept.

Yes, it will be an exciting year coming up. Not only for us that's interested in sales but for the industry as a whole.

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

I'm not sure how we will track the Scorpio, Neo or NX. That will be up to ioi (Brett). The Xbox One S will (more than likely) be tracked as part of the Xbox One. All 'slim' models of a console, and even the minor DS/3DS revisions have all been tracked with the original.

Media Create reports all four iterations of 3DS (New 3DS XL, New 3DS, 3DS, 3DS XL) would that really be so difficult to report fot VGChartz?

PS4 Slim and XBOne Slim will obviously be the most successful new versions of existing consoles.
Beefed-up versions Neo and Scorpio will be more niche, the higher the price, the lower the sales.
PSVR will probably be amongst the most successful VR devices of this generation, but this means very little, I wouldn't expect either an utter fail or a cosmic success, rather something inbetween.
NX will probably succeed, Ninty won't repeat the mistakes made with Wii U.

Yes it's fair. It's two completely different situations...

I might be replacing my Geforce 960 with AMD 480, it is 60% performance gain and perfect for maxing out everything at 1080p

Deus Ex (2000) - a game that pushes the boundaries of what the video game medium is capable of to a degree unmatched to this very day.

Yea I figured that, which is why I didn't mention the S, but since the NX/Scorpio/Neo all are going to be, at the very least, slight enhancements and not just more compact, they should, at least in my head, get their own bars.
