Forums - Sony Discussion - Sony's First Party Studios Are Going To Be Very Predictable

There are 4-6 studios on that list that are very likely to make a game from a new ip in the next 5 years.

I don't understand this thread?

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

So you are assuming sequels and say they are predictable? What is the point of the OP?

While I see your point....I don't understand it...there are what like 4-5 new IPs in this list. We have already got Bloodborne, The Order: 1886, Driveclub AND the Mario killer(this was so silly back then but still funny) Knack and the indies/ smaller stuff I didn't mention like Tearaway Unfolded and Until Dawn.

All these new IPs, granted all of them did not score the best yet they are still new, plus the ones in your OP but we are worried about Sony being predictable the next 4-5yrs just because we have a pretty good guess of a few games that they will more than likely work on and release?

That.....really doesn't add up to be honest. But then again you did say first party so who knows.

The absence of evidence is NOT the evidence of absence...

So what you've done is listed all the games that's already announced.

And then you assumed that they'd be making a sequel of these games.

......

I don't see how you proved them to be predictable...all you really did was list already announced games (many of which were a surprise when they were announced) and made assumptions about there future output, some of which will likely not come true.

MLB is an annual franchise

Cory Barlog has all but confirmed, that God of War will be the first of many set in Norse mythology.

Guerrilla Games has gone on record saying, that they would love for Horizon to be their next big franchise.

Polyphony Digital doesn't work on anything other than Gran Turismo

And of course, depending how well Days Gone does sales wise, will determine whether we get a sequel or not.

While some sequels are inevitable, it doesn't in any way guarantee that they will move from one project to the next, with nothing in between. Take Sony Santa Monica for instance. They tend to develop a lot of games collaboratively. Right now they have their names attached to three other projects which will be released on PSVR.

Saying "Santa Monica is going to release another God of War someday" doesn't make them predictible, especially when those releases are interspersed with releases of other games...

Besides, your ignoring the fact that a lot of the games on that list which are confirmed were not predictable in the least.

lol

If Sony is predictable, what do you call Nintendo and Microsoft? Redundant?

I am feeling very misunderstood right now.

What I am trying to say is, that we likely already know what they will be up to in the next 4-5 years.

^ thats probably true.

Still I dont mind abit, I think it makes sense, what you outlined.

Yep, too easy to predict that sony will release what they announced, boohoo I'll complain about it... funny.

Same old same old type of games, that is what we gonna get, 95% of the games are so similar that no one won't even care.
