Forums - Gaming Discussion - Xbox beat Sony E3 by a long shot

They both had good games, I think this E3 was more significant to Microsoft though as it outlined their hardware future and general philosophy, for Sony it was just another E3.

A lot of people are saying that Playstation E3 was superior because of more games that were shown.. However we know that most of those games don't even have a release date!    By contrast if you look at Xbox exclusive games such as Forza Horizon 3, Gears of war 4, Halo Wars 2, Dead Rising 4 etc. we expect them to come out either this year or maybe next year(latest). Now lets look at the Sony games that will come out this year... Last Guardian is one.. I cant think of another one..   How on earth did Sony "destroy" Xbox..

Oh I almost forgot the Xbox One S unveiling which was revolutionary ground breaking i was blown away by how amazing it looks and only starting at 299$? crazy!

Sony won by a long margin, as usual; MS have nothing to show apart from the usual Forza and Gears;  but I'm sure you were kidding :)

Aside from TLG, World of Final Fantasy? Gran Turismo Sport? Nioh? Dragon Quest Builders? Gravity Rush 2?

4 of which are actual 100% exclusives unlike any of MS's games.

Not that i need to add these because TLG > XB1's entire library, past, present and future. Hell, > Xbox OG + 360 + X1.

In terms of presentation Sony won by a long shot.
In terms of games, it's whatever floats your boat.

For me God of War, TLG, Horizon >>>

When watching Sony's presser, I felt the ambition and strive to move games forward. Ms had some good showings but only the Rare game properly impressed me.

I think Microsoft won as well. They hit all the bases: Games, hardware, new features, and services. Sony seemed to have just games and no exciting announcements. I enjoyed the Microsoft exclusives more aside from Days Gone.

Lol. Isn´t this what we all want??

As a console manufacturer, I believe you have a duty to show your customers and investors what exciting updates and features are coming to the platform that they play your games on. Sony didnt do that. Microsoft did. I liked that.

Ok, do that at conferences for that, like when Sony revealed the PS4 or when MS revealed the XBOne. Sony will probably show Neo stuff at PSX. There's also CES. Not that I'm saying that they shouldn't mention these things at all, but don't tell me that, and I reiterate, at a games' conference, you win because you announced customizable controllers, clubs (aka Communities, which PS4 has had for over 8 months, now FYI), and that you don't even need to own the hardware that the conference is dedicated to, to play its games. That's kind of ridiculous.

That's like MS announcing an actual Conkers remake or a new entry, and Sony "wins" because they say "you can now add friends list for games with cross play and chat with PC players". Ok, neat. That doesn't trump games at a games' conference, though.

This.

Considering this thread was made to be highly controversial (like 95% of OP's thread history) it's actually saying a lot about who won E3.

I think both conferences were good. Though looking around the web paints a clear picture of who won in the eyes of the broader audience.

Naturally, some Xbox fans don't agree with that XD

OMG! We are getting a XB1 S this year for only 299$, The same price as the Original XB1 cost in my country...
Just 13 month's before the next generation XB comes out, which MS is hoping will reverse the entire situation and bury this generation behind them..

If that is a good E3.... I better stop ranting there..

I rather just wait for the new XB generation that have Backward compatibility and i can replay all the games i skipped this year at a more solid framerate, and play the new XB1 games at 4k and45- 50fps.

I can do that on my PC, so to me? Sony won cause they had everything that made their product appealing as a selling product. Buy the Ps4 and you get all these games you can't get anywhere else, just like with Nintendo. I don't see how Hardware wins over Software when we buy Hardware because we only care about the software.. Which was the general idea behind hardware > Software.

Also, How is it that MS wins when they have shown us no new games?  Why is it that there are people who fail asking themselves that, DID i actually see something new?

Sony already have tons of Games coming for this year, and i love their line-up for 2017 already.

PSN: Opticstrike90
Steam: opticstrike90

Definitely, but not by a ''long shot'' though. As with last year (and I believe the year before it) Q3/Q4 belongs to Xbox, PS4 can't really compete and I can't remember the last time the PS4 or PS3 for that matter actually did. Maybe when Uncharted 2 / 3 launched???

However, the actual games shown at Sony E3 interested / surprised me more than what MS showed. God of War 4 actually looks good. Spider Man actually looks great. And for the first time I am actually looking forward to a Quantic Dreams game (Detroit).

In fact this is the first time I am looking forward to a God of War and Spider Man game. The only game I don't like the look of is Horizon, but other than that, 2017 is looking like one of the best years for Sony.
