Forums - Sony Discussion - How did Uncharted 3 get a 92 metacritic?

Yeah didn't like it very much and as a follow up to Uncharted 2 it was very poor.

The story didn't push forward as much as U2, the set pieces were worse and the levels were not as fun to explore, with the exception of the ship/s.

I feel Uncharted 4 was way too much of a sequel to Uncharted 3 than Uncharted 2 with a little bit of Last of Us style walkie talkie sections.

I loved the third game but then again i love different types of pacing, i personally love the shipyard and no it doesn't ruin the story at all, it's not uncommon to be kidnapped and the fact that you had to escape made it just so more sweeter. All those amazing sections inside the sinking ship it basically kicked the train sequence ass in UC2 in it's entiety. I don't truly understand why people have a problem with this scene and what it does to the game. My problem with the game is the entire last chapter, it felt rushed

Because professional and user reviewers really like it and it was a great game.

I've really enjoyed U3. Thr graphics are mindblowing for previous gen, the story is good and gameplay is fine. I personally find the adventure, puzzle, story and mystery more important than shooting and I was happy with it.

Than you must really enjoy the fourth installment

I totally and utterly disagree. Uncharted 3 is the best one in the series (not counting 4 as i havent played it). Best story, most original locations and the pace is just as good as the previous games (wich for me gets too much at points in the whole series where i get tired of shooting waves of enemies).

Uncharted 3 was the only in the series i loved. The original was very meh... 2 was alright, golden abyss was ok, but 3 was awesome. I loved the twists and how that changes the presentation. Nate back story aswell. It was the best package.

For me, the Uncharted series ranks like this:

Uncharted 4 => Uncharted 2 (I just can't decide which is better overall)
Uncharted
Uncharted: Golden Abyss
Uncharted 3

Uncharted 3 had problems. A lot of them. It had horrible pacing, the story made me yawn more than once, and overall it was not a strong entry into the series. The "supernatural" enemy was pretty bad too. Really bad. I still remember that horrible fight with several of them near the end game where they could literally take multiple missiles apiece and not go down. That isn't fun anymore. That's just bad enemy design, especially when they can drop Nate in just a small handful of hits even on normal. Enemy placement was bad, the game didn't feel as tight and fun as Uncharted 2, the storytelling got pretty lazy at times, and overall, it was a really disappointing sequel.

It's the only Uncharted game I haven't revisited and have no desire to. I genuinely dislike the game and find it to be the blacksheep of the Uncharted series. Even the Vita entry feels tighter and of higher quality, thus my inclusion of it over Uncharted 3 in ranking.

Where have you been all my life??

Thats EXACTLY how I'd rank them.

It scored 93 by the way.

1 Negative

The PS5 Exists.

lots of games score well that I personally dislike or aren't my cup of tea.  A lot of times I can see why they score well and I'd say UC3 should score well even though it's not going to be for everyone.

My biggest gripe are broken games scoring high.  I know reviews are subjective and there isn't a set of bullet points a game must achieve but my goodness being playable should be a standard for all games to receive a good score.

l <---- Do you mean this glitch Gribble?  If not, I'll keep looking.

I am on the other side of my sig....am I warm or cold?

Marco....

It's an amazing game.

I happened to watch a 30min let's play of it before playing myself and it was an eye opener for me because the parts that I had seen in let's play felt like I had already played, I mean it was 1:1 experience. But to the point, UC3 combat was really bad and annoying and spoiled the game for me, I would rate the game 6/10
