I am in part 3, chapter 10 on normal difficulty (beat the game on easy before), most of my characters in Ike's group have level 16-18, Micaiah's group has level 5-8. Characters I didn't use are Meg, Fiona and all Laguz. Ilyana was useful in part 1 to weaken enemies, but she's useless later in the game. Heather steals stuff, but that's about it.

What is this "20/20/2"?

It's the 3rd tier. Unlike most Fire Emblems where you get one promotion, you get 2 in Radiant Dawn.

Also, what's wrong with your Heather? Poor stat gains?

No offense, and dies easily. Sothe or Lothe are better, but assassin's are meh, imo.

Lothe? Do you mean Volke? And no, Volke is not better. He doesn't have enough availability or levels to cap as much as he needs to meanwhile Heather has more than enough time to cap every single stat she has.

Personal experience means nothing. Heather is balls in stat growth.

Here are the walkthrough opinions:

*means use in final chapter

Thieves

Heather
She is a very average thief that isn't worth using aside from the
occasional theft or plunder when Sothe isn't available. Since there
are very few indoor maps with treasure or important items to steal,
she'll likely be benched most of the game.

Sothe
He's like a swordmaster that uses daggers. You have to take him into
the final chapter so make sure he's lv 20 at promotion. He's fragile,
but can put out some decent damage.

*Volke (Assassin)
He has great stats, great evasion, and is highly deadly. Although you
can't replace Sothe with him, you may consider picking him as one of
the final chapter units, as he is probably a better bet for the
Baselard than Sothe.

Here's her stat growth

Stat Growths - HP: 40%, STR: 20%, MAG: 20%, SKL: 50%, SPD: 70%, LUK:
75%, DEF: 30%, RES: 40% Imo, Volke is rape. Heather sucks balls. Now that' RNG, but either way, don't get to attacking me cause my Heather sucks, I can't help it.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

hmmm, maybe I will get this during a summer dry spell... as for now PES:Wii and SSBB have kept me away from Z&W... I need to get around to that game...

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

This isn't gamefaqs.  Personal experience means something however availability means more.

Heather has enough availability to cap every stat.  Volke does not without extreme amounts of favoritism.

I have started Part 2 (Nephenee joined). Any tips?
I'm leveling up Edward, Nephenee and Jill. Am I ok?
I have lost Nolan... and I saved... I know: I'm stupid.

Wii Fit is rapidly beating PS3...

Playing now: Apollo Justice, Majora's Mask

Going to play: Little King Story

"As long as there is a Triforce, there will be a Zelda  As long as there is a prosperous kingdom, there will be an evil that wants destroy it And as long as there is an oppressive force running Hyrule, there will be a boy, in a green tunic, with a silver shield, and a magic blade, to stand against them."-The Legend of Zelda

Don't worry, you won't really miss Nolan.

Everyone in Radiant Dawn turns out well if you work on them.  Just use whoever you like.

Ok I am in 3-9 right now. I feel really stupid. I did not know Astrid and Geofrey had paragon skills. Astrid sucks so much without wasting all Bexp on her.

Could anyone explain the big deal with forging weapons? I know how to do so, but I fail to see any advantage. I am near the end of the game and so far there are only iron and steel weapons available. What is the point of making a steel weapon that is a little weaker that the ones at the shop and cost 5000 gold? I am missing something?

Hmm I always press home when someone gets killed.

There is one tough level to come with Micaiahs group halfway part 3, that will become very tough without Nolan. I must say Nolan was my first character to Class Change, so he was quite strong, but that level will become a pain if you miss a strong character.

I really liked Nephenee and Brom for a few battles, but at the end of part 3 they had to make room. Nephenee, just like in PoR, gains pretty fast. Who to choose will become more and more a question of personal preference near the end.

I didn't use Heather a lot either.

@Bigjon and Riot: Buy this game! It's amazing. I agree with Zen 100% that the story is less than PoR, but the seperate group system is very good. Anyone agree with me that there were more awesome weapons in PoR. I have only aquired 1 Tomahawk so far.

The only time Nolan could be missed(I used him as a main char, but he can be replaced) is in 3-6 I think it is, the first time you fight with Micaiah in part 3 agains the Laguz crossing the river in fog of war.

It's not a big deal though, that part is easy with proper Black Knight usage.

I beat the 2nd story yesterday and that scene where Ike and his mercenaries come in and save Lucia.........that was so cool. At first, I thought I was gunna see an actual hanging, and I was like woah.....and then it focused on the tree, and I knew an archer was in there. I hated Rolf's voice......he sounded like too much of a kid.....3 years have passed right? You think he would have hit puberty by now. When do I get to play with Ike?

Rolf's English voice can't be that bad, but I am too lazy to change the language in the system settings of my Wii to listen to it.

For some reason Nintendo decided to have German voice overs for Radiant Dawn and apparently they hired the same people who usually do that for Microsoft games. So the quality of the voice acting ranges from acceptable (the narrator, thank god) to downright horrible (most of them). While the FMVs look awesome, the voice actors kinda ruin them.

It sounded too squeaky for me. I don't mind him having a terrified voice, as that matches his character, but I hate squeakiness.  However, I was playing it late at night, wiith the volume low (not off) since everyone else was asleep. Mayhaps I misheard.

The voice acting seems all right for most charcacters, I just disliked Rolf. Everyone else sounds good, especially the narrarator, whose voice is heard all the time on the maps.

Query: So, would Fire Emblem: RD be worth the purchase for me?

Situation: I like the games of the FE series I have played so far (1st FE for the GBA, FE for the GC) but I have the problem of burn out on them. I play them for a while but am so picky with my characters that if anyone dies I restart the battle, so sometimes I have to play the battle about 3-4 times to get it right. After a while I get tired of playing and move on to another game, then don't really get back to playing for a while...

I really like the game and the mechanics of the game play, but just get tired of it after about 20-30 hours of game time.

So I repeat my question: Is this game worth my time?
