Forums - Sony Discussion - Adam Boyes: Activision still owns Crash

People still expcting something at E3 are going to be very disappointed I think.

Either because there's no Crash Bandicoot, or because there's going to be an Activision cash grab Crash Bandicoot. Whichever it is will be a disappointment.

Like he would say yes we own the rights and totally destroy any impact it would have on e3.

Release the Bandicoot's soul!

I still doubt a new Crash is being made, but even if there was I don't think it'd be exclusive to PlayStation.

Why wouldn't Activision do an exclusive deal with Sony? That's what they do. Making Crash for PS4 only or just licensing the rights for a game to them is a no brainer.

ugh, if Activision refuse to sell then Sony just need to make Crosh Bondicoot instead!

I second this. Immensely.

I'm now filled with determination.

hes lying you fools!

What's that to stop them from having a partnership deal with Activision? Just because they own the rights, that doesn't mean that Sony and Activision can't have a deal for an exclusive game. One where Sony even has oversight over the development. Activision would make a buttload of money out of this.

I think with Crash, they might have learnt from the Marvel deal with Disney.

Activision offers Sony the license for free to make exclusive PS4 game. Activision gets free good PR as they are letting the fans have what they want. In return, Activision gets to keep merchandising rights and use Crash in Skylander etc. Not giving Sony the license or permission to make the game would have been to Activision what it was for Sony not giving permission to Marvel for the use of Spidey in Civil War. In the end it worked out well for both.

For the Spidey game, Activision has milked this license before and I don't see that changing. Whilst Activision make their own set of Spidey games, Sony gets to work on an exclusive one on their own.

E3 is coming up. This could be an attempt to make new Sony Crash more of a surprise. Or maybe he's sick of fielding Crash questions. But the way Sony's been lacing their Playstation events and social media with allusions to Crash, like how Marvel movies insert references to future projects, it's hard to ignore.

Yeah exactly. That's a strong possibility.

If they had the IP they wouldn't be randomly saying so on twitter.

They wouldnt have a reason to reply to it either and yet they did. So, who knows?

Actually... how does crushing hopes generate more hype? Doesn't make sense to me unless he is trolling. I'm not sure i have seen him do that before.
