So, I have been scrolling through a couple reviews of U4, and some reviewers take points away from the final score because of real stupid reasons...

Like IGN,  "not innovative", we all know when it comes to ND they are some of the best in the industry. And IGN dont say the same about other franchises that are into their 10th or so game.

Digitally Downloaded, taking points because you cant alter the story

GamesRadar+, "tries too hard to be mature and grown-up"

And this happens to most games, people coming up with wierd reasons why a game isnt good.

Lets all remember that "The A. V. Club" rated U3 5/10"

I'm sorry but Uncharted 4 is not innovative. But not all games can be. So IGN is right, and it's not because Naughty Dogs are some of the best developers in the world that it changes the fact that U4 doesn't revolutionize the genre. But recall my second sentence: NOT ALL GAMES CAN BE.

I dont like what game reviews has become. Games get good scores too easily, and flawed games receive great reviews because they come from a franchise with a rich history. The fact an "average" game scores a 7 hurts me.

And, of course, then there's the fact that gamers/consumers overreact over any score. Zelda gets an 8? Biased reviewer. Sonic gets a 5? Biased reviewer...

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

Wondering what AAA game has been innovative in the past 5 years.

True, there's no innovation in the big companies AAA games. I'd say that the only high profile game which was different enough was Splatoon (and even so it's not the most innovative thing ever XD), but that's hardly a AAA game XD. They played safe with the budget. So... yeah, I agree.

I hate it when reviewers do this.
Halo 5 was criticized, because reviewers expected a different story to be told after watching the commercials...

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

Didn't like the story in Halo 5, It was worse than Halo 4. The focus went to MP for sure.

Game sites can be stupid about reviews.

Example:

One game site reviewed like Halo 3 and was saying like how it's amazing because it kept the same gameplay and formula etc..

Then they later reviewed a game like God of War 3 saying like it kept the same gameplay and formula but because of that it was repetitive and not innovating.

And this was from the same reviewer.

Can't trust any reviewers except yourself and dont try to let them get to you.

In this case, this is UNCHARTED 4!! Doesn't matter what the reviewers say because you and I, and everyone else that's pumped for this, will enjoy the hell out of this regardless!

That is a valid reason to criticize.  It's like getting a pineapple drink in an orange juice can.  An expectation is created by marketing.  If you fail to live up to that expectation you failed to deliver your product in a way that you expected to be able to.  I would dock points for that reason, especially since advertising is the main way in which a company reaches a target audience.

*Driving sections mostly feel like busywork* As well as *Enemies with weak motivations*
1: Off-road driving isn't like driving on a Nascar road.
2: Bandit's are bandit's because of bad motivation but high ambitions.
I don't even know why i wrote nr 2...

All the reviewers got different things written in the cons of the game, which is odd to me, because there are already 40 different cons and none of them are anything alike each-other.. Bad consistency only proves that it is their personal opinion, which means they are either lazy or wanted something else.

Do you guys remember Call of Duty Ghosts aka the worst Call of Duty in the series?

Well IGN have it a 88. Link: http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/11/05/call-of-duty-ghosts-review

Meaning that somehow, in the IGN twisted universe the worst Call of Duty is equal to the best Uncharted.

Here is a link of the current 88 IGN review for Uncharted 4: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zIjQCu8y2EE

If you don't want to give IGN more clicks, let me break it down to you:

The person in charge of reviewing Uncharted 4: Lucy O'Brien, has no idea of how to review a game from a technical and professional point of view. She simply had an idea of the game in her mind (probably a more simple idea) , and since the game did not follow the idea in her head, she decided to deduct 12 points from the score.

its not just game reviews...

...the entire news industry is garbage.
