It was sad, at least I know one anime movie adaptation that's worse than The Last Airbender. I mean come on, Dragonball should be a CG movie. It fits Toriyama's style and it'll sell. Didn't Resurrection F do way better in terms of sales? That's an indication to leave DB to stylized formats.

Thats not an adaptation of an anime though

I'm not calling Avatar a cartoon, its based off of a Japanese style so it's Anime. It's on every big anime site out there!

Poor TLA, Shyamalan butchered it completely

Oh well, at least the anime/cartoon is still some of the best out there, period.

Please let us all forget this garbage... Don't talk about it... It never happened... -_-

I'm in the minority with The Last Airbender. I saw it once in theaters and I thought it was pretty awesome! The action and some of the special effects blew me away. Especially the water.  I enjoyed it it, I thought it was cool, and I had a lot of fun with it. I absolutely love how he had all these different ethnic groups and races in the movie. Then again, I never watched the cartoon and what I seen of it.... I think it was crap. So my opinion is a little... rocky with the movie. I did walk out with a fuck yeah. Dragon Ball Evolution had me leaving all pissed off and wanting to cry. As did The Force Awakens :/ I could go over so many things that's wrong with that movie.

It sounds like he's going ahead with the sequel, but it sounds like it may be very different as well. http://moviepilot.com/posts/3542674

Again... like I said. I'm in the vast minority here. Then again, a lot of the hate seemed a little more biased with this movie in comparison. Then again I expected it to be a kids movie and it exceeded my expectations. So go ahead and poke fun at me :p I'm almost embarrassed to say all of this, yet at the same time I'm NOT! ;)

There's your issue right there. Everyone who has seen Avatar from beginning to end knows what a proper movie should look like. And that was not it. M. Night turned that into a disaster, left out important plot points, made his own decisions that ruined the canon of the series, and the action was less that satisfactory. People who just wanted to see the movie probably thought it was good. But in all reality, it wasn't. It won an award for most eye gouging special effects...come on mang. And Avatar is really a movie for kids to early adults. Not like Spongebob or anything. It's comparable to the greatest of anime.

Dragon Ball I think as a source material namely Z would be horrible for movies. It might work as TV show but movies it would be horrible.

It takes a lot of courage to admit that you're wrong. Although I hate that movie with a passion, he has at the very least earned my respect.

Any movie called Dragon Ball Z is destined to be rubbish.

The anime is lame and would no way in hell ever translate into a Hollywood picture.

Plus being awful doesn't stop a movie from being a success. Nobody cares about the series no matter how well known it is.

A DB movie requires a huge budget but it can be done. I saw a fan made llive action DBZ movie on youtube and it wsa awesome even with the small budget they had. Hollywood requires to give it the treatment given to DC and Marvel movies for the movie to match the manga and anime.

I cant argue with opinions though I disagree, but your last sentence is rubbish. DBZ still has a huge active fanbase worldwide. They just require to be treated with respect. When a movie is this awful the negative word of mouth and the effect of reviews spread quickly, it even did for BVS which had much better reviews and was a much better movie than this.

Good...he needs to apologize!

I guess an apology will have to do.

I hope/wish Japan would make a CG movie of DBZ.
