While definitely steep it's not that unusual for a private university in that part of the country...

I went to a private school in north NJ; it was only possible because my father's job paid half...

OP, are you from NJ???

New Jersey is a cool state, but please advise your sibling not to go anywhere near heroin; it's destroying communities throughout  the state, rich, poor, white, black, immigrant, etc...

My friends who grew up in NJ all dread going home to visit family and friends because every time they do, they find out about classmate who has overdosed...

Some of these friends went to inner city schools, while others went to smarmy boarding schools for the rich...

Have a nice day...

Opiates (Heroin etc) is a problem in this state as well (Wisconsin) so it isn't just a problem in New Jersey. From what I heard in different reports on this, it is basically a backlash from needless perscription pain killers being written to teens who then get hooked on them. Needless as in you just had a cavity filled here is a perscription for the pain, so get off my back about the pain. Makes you wonder if the medical profession learned anything for overperscribing Anti-biotics to get their patients to fell better when it was obviously a virus (anti-biotics for a cold for example).

Actually getting into Princeton is not that great of feat. Anybody can get in with big enough check. And actually the quality of education there is not that much greater than state ran school. But Princeton does play a great PR game. A recent study actually found that Princeton and all other "ivy league" school have worse ROI than state run school and you pay more to go to school where the rich and famous go.

I don't go to an Ivy-League, but I go to a peer institution of the less competitive Ivy's (Carnegie Mellon University.) I pay less than I would've if I went to my in-state school (Penn State) because private institutions have amazing financial aid packages, and the school I go to has the highest average salary for graduates of any school in the country.

Public institutions are great for certain people, Ivy's and their peer institutions are great for others. It depends who you are.

Congrats to him.

Princeton tends to give excellent financial aid packages so that they remain competitive with peer institutions and even community colleges/state schools. So on paper it is a lot of money, but unless one is an international student one'll likely get some form of financial assistance, including full assitance for the poorest students. I go to a school that costs about $50k/year (for tuition + fees + books, not including living expenses) and I usually get $3000-$5000 back to live off of (which in my city is plenty), four-fifths of this are private grants that I don't have to ever pay back, the rest are federal and state grants and then federal loans (I am about $17k in loan debt and finishing my fourth year of undergraduate.)

As a swede this doesnt say anything to me. Is princeton like a jedi acedemy or something?

Yes. Americans have become extremely stupid, so scientists such as Michio Kaku and Bill Nye have created academies to create real life Star Wars+RPG world. So far Ted Cruz is the Zodiac Killer, while Hillary is the evil overlord of the galaxy.

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.

Nice, congrats to your sibling.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

Isn't that a prestigious school?

Big congrats to your sibling
