Forums - Sony Discussion - With all due Respect....Indie games are ruining my Playstation experience.

Remember back in 2012/13 or so when every month we'd get triple A releases on PS Plus.

So, 5-6 years after the PS3 launched. I expect by 2018-2019 we'll be in the similar situation for PS4 PS+ games.

I think Vita is flooding with more indie games but there's variety there and that's what I love about gaming: variety. Some are hidden gems. You might enjoy a few indie games here and there.

Wouldn't be so sure. When PS Plus launched the IGC was one of the main incentives to get the subscription, as you could play online without PS Plus and so there was  significantly more incentive for Sony to put big games on PS Plus. Now when PS Plus is mandatory to play online, there is less incentive for them to do that. I do expect there to be more major games on PS Plus over time, as more games are released, but it will never reach the 2012/13 levels. I copied the major AAA games from a year of PS Plus starting June 2012 and June 2013 to illustrate (excluded indies and smaller games), I highly doubt we'll see anything even close to that kind of lineup. A note that PAL had more major games than NA in those timeframes, even though NA had quite a good lineup as well. I would speculate that is due to lower PS Plus adaption rates in Europe hence they needed to create more incentive than in NA, where more people subscribed to PS Plus.

The only thing about indie that I don't like is the digital only thing. If they would be in the store, on a disc, I'd be all over them.

I'm sorry PlayStation have you Rocket League, Rogue Legacy, Grow Home, Teslagrad.... Etc

PS Plus PS3 era - fuck, I bought this game yesterday, fuuuuu Sony,
PS Plus PS4 era - fuck, stupid indies who cares lol, gimme AAA games

Im not fan of most indie games. However, ps+ has been lack luster lately. Xbox one is getting AAA games with GWG.

I'm not saying that indie games are bad as I enjoy quite a few of them, but I definitely know what you're trying to say.
There is a much bigger lack of genres compared to full priced games, so getting indie after indie after indie would be a bit like getting 3 full priced FPS in a row. Both scenarios wouldn't be ideal.

An even more important factor that hasn't really been mentioned so far is value. Obviously indie games are already cheaper than retail games and usually still cheaper than retail games that are one year old or older when they are included in either PS Plus or GwG.
So it should be preferable for subscribers to receive digital versions of retail games, as buying indie games would be cheaper than buying retail games.

my problem isn't per say indie games as much as it is all those ugly 16 and 8 bit games ...you really think i'm trynna play that shit on 40 inch + tv? hurts my eyes and it doesn't help that the gameplay of 99% those games are bad compared to actual games from those eras

Between acting like 40 inches is big (it's not) and stating that 8- and 16-bit graphics hurt the eyes (they don't), I just can't tell if you're serious.
