I've found that Gameworks effects are terrible taxing in the system, if I activate them all and set everything to max in Far Cry 4, I get sub 50's fps, very stable but still. In The Witcher 3, Hairworks alone plunged my fps into the low 50's from the high 70's on ultra.

I've strapped The Witcher III to 60fps, because going above becomes a stutter-fest (at least on my set-up)!

Hmm, I heard that folks with vsync monitors had issues before the (insanely huge) update as well. I haven't had many issues with it on a technical and visual level but encountered quest bugs a few times.

I love the "Only on Playstation" Killzone advert behind you pc :p

I'll humor you with my current pc gaming setup

2.4 ghz i7 4700 MQ
16 Gb ram
GT 740m
1080p 15.4" screen

Rocking an unsteady 15fps on low settings while driving on a planet in Elite Dangerous Horizons. Still looks great.

Alright, I've my build since December 2014

- Z97 Sabertooth mkII

- Intel core i7 4790

- MSI GTX 970 4Go

- 2x8Go RAM

- Primary SSD : Cruxial MX100 128Go (Windows & softs)  [Samsung]

- Secondary SSD : Cruxial MX100  128Go (Downloads)

- Steam SSD : Crucial MX100 512Go

- And a couple of HDD (1x1To, 1x2To, 1x 3To)

- Supply : CM Vanguard V700

- KB : Logitech wireless K360 ( if I want to go crazy I use my G15 from 2007 ! )

Sorry fir the dusty pix ! I setup my computer with the back in front of me, since I hate going behind to plug some stuff ^^ Everything is on a moving table, so I can move all my rig and screens wherever I want, there's just power & network cables going behind. Usually I hook a projector to display on a white wall. I always play with one main screen and the secondary screen for chat/irc/mails/videos/netflix while playing.

I only play in 1080p :D haven't jumped to 4K... yet

=> TW3 : 50 fps in Ultra with hairworks set to Geralt only

=> Xcom 2 : 60 fps in game, drops to 25 in cinematics

=> Mad Max : Steady 60fps

Don't quite qualify for "Master Race", but prospect. It gets the job done.

Motherboard: ASRock H97 Pro4
CPU: Intel Core i5 4690
GPU: Sapphire Nitro R9 380 4GB
RAM: G.Skill Ares series 8GB
PSU: EVGA 600B (600W)

What do you need 6 Tb of storage for?

I have been shooting 24 mbps 1080p video for 6 years and still haven't filled 1 Tb.
In fact it's shared 50/50 by tens of thousands of raw images. (My wife shoots close to 10 thousand pictures a year)
6 Tb that's a lot!

What case? I can bet you can fit all that in a small edgy form factor. Maybe even a changing light in the middle ;)

Oh yeah! 120fps in most. Easy!

I've found that Gameworks effects are terrible taxing in the system, if I activate them all and set everything to max in Far Cry 4, I get sub 50's fps, very stable but still. In The Witcher 3, Hairworks alone plunged my fps into the low 50's from the high 70's on ultra.

That's because Hairworks uses a 32x tessellation mode that brings any card down its knees.

Funnily enough, AMD had an option in their drivers that allowed you to adjust the max level of tessellation while Nvidia didn't had one, so AMD users ended up having a better experience with the game .

The Achilles heel of my PC is my old HD 5850 1GB videocard. Hopefully that will change once AMD and Nvidia launch their new cards (so probably end of this year or early 2017).

  • CPU: Intel i5-4670K
  • MB: Asus Z87 Pro
  • RAM: 16GB G. Skill Ripjaws DDR3 1600 MHz
  • SSD: Crucial M500 240GB (for OS and other programs)
  • HDD1: Western Digital 1TB Caviar Black (for games)
  • HDD2: Western Digital 4TB Caviar Green (for storing video, pics, etc)

  • PSU: Antec CP-850 850W Semi-Modular
  • Case: Antec P183
  • Monitor: Dell's U2311H 23" 1080p IPS

I don't have pics of it.

Please excuse my bad English.
