There are steps several between 1080p and 4K.

Right now you can get 3440x1440, 144Hz and IPS or VA monitors from several brands (like Acer).

I know, but I prefer the big jumps, especially when dealing with monitors. Unlike a GPU or CPU, I don't change monitors every year (or every other). I try to get 5-6 years out of them.

Ok. But it will take some time until we have 4K, IPS and 144Hz monitors. I think HDMI 2.0 can't even reach that bandwidth, but DP1.3 will.

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

No GPU for me until later this year ...

There's not gonna be any new CPUs this year. But it's irrelevant anyway. You can get a 3 year old i7 today and be happy for the next 5 years.

Well, there will be new "E" chips out from Intel, but nothing untli Kaby Lake/whatever AMD is doing in 2017.

Nobody buys the E chips because they're stupid and overpriced :P.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

This is my beast machine. I don't use it much, but when I do it's for PC games that is only possible on PC.

Motherboard: ASUS Z170-P

CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K CPU @ 4.00GHz

GPU: EVGA NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 Ti *SC*

RAM: Corsair Dominator Platinum Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR4 DRAM 3000 MHz

Memory: Crucial BX100 1TB SATA 2.5 Inch Internal Solid State Drive

CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken X61

PSU: Corsair CS750m

OS: Win10 home

TOWER CASE: Corsair Graphite Series Arctic White 760T Full Tower Windowed Case

I have 5 Fans, and it has room for 2 more. The fan lights is white, and I got a LED light strip running on its lowest setting. It's like really really bright on max. I like this machine a lot. What do you think, is there room to improve?

CPU: Ryzen 7950X

Anyone have pics of their rigs/set-up?

I'll get on it when I finish moving (bought a house!)

Watch me stream games and hunt trophies on my Twitch channel!

Check out my Twitch Channel!:

www.twitch.tv/AzurenGames

Will be built this weekend when i have some free time. Ill post pictures once i get it going.

CPU: i7 6700k
GPU: MSI gtx 980ti golden edition
Mobo: ROG Maximus Hero VIII
Ram: g.skill Trident Z 3600 16GB
Cooler: Deepcool gamer storm captin 240mm ( got it for a steal)
PSU: Rosewill 750w
Case: DIYPC D780 ATX Full
SSD: 480GB sandisk SDSSDHII
OS: Win10 home

Im hoping with this set up i can get 1450mhz out of the 980ti and 4800mhz out of the 6700k, dont see the need to OC the memory with that speed(yet). Friday cant get here soon enough.

I have 2 peaseas, my latest build is only a week old! It's a small form factor for under my tv and easy to carry to other places, comes with a handy handle.

silverstone ml08 (really small!)
asrock z1017 gaming itx motherboard
6700k (not oc'd yet but at 4.2ghz enough for even emulation)
gtx 670 (only component I have yet to upgrade, waiting for Pascal, no sense buying a gtx 970 now)
500w psu
samsung 950 pro, fastest SSD on the market right now
16gb ddr4 ram
scythe big shuriken rev b

Yeah quite the horse power in that size but its design allows it.

My other pc is a true desktop and 3 years old and also needs an upgrade, but I think I'm done with big towers. Corsairs new cases don't look as nice as they used to. Maybe 750D, I just want a minimalistic case with quality material that looks and feels nice.

Scary seeing how many people here own the latest unlocked Syklake CPUs and even more so for the i7's ...

I want to get into PC gaming so bad! I'll check everyones build's
