Forums - Movies & TV - Hugh Jackman Thinks Tom Hardy Should Be the Next Wolverine

After Age of Apocalypse and Wolverine 3 I think the character could stand to take a good decade break from the screen. He's been in...7(?) going to be 9 films over twenty year period.

Mel Gibson would have been the perfect Wolverine.

Can he achieve the Wolverines body?

Hugh Jackman trained literally years to represent that character. There is an interview that on the last Wolverine movie, that was the first time that he was satisfied with what he thought Logan would look in real life, cutting all the water off his body to film the shirtless scene.

I dont think Hardy would be that commited to the role IMO.

P.D. He is an amazing actor, dont get me wrong.

Jackman got bigger each film. In the last Wolverine one, the guy was freacking huge. Pretty hard if you consider that the films happened along 14 years and he was getting older.

I agree

Isn't it about time they cast a 5'3" guy?

Why?

Wolverine is a short arse. Why do you think he's so angry all the time? :P

Character is actually only 5'3". Mr Tall Dark and Handsome he is not.

Hmm, pie.

Has anyone ever asked Hugh Jackman what exactly he plans to do instead? I mean correct me if I'm wrong but I can't recall him landing any other big roles really. He's a fairly one dimensional actor. I don't see him getting much better work than the Wolverine gig.

I mean he did that Australia movie....which sucked. He did...what was it, Real Steel or something like that? Which sucked. Van Helsing. Sucked.

The one good movie I remember with him that's unrelated to Xmen was The Prestige, and Christian Bale pretty much stole the show in that one.

What is better , make  Wolverine movies that suck for the rest of his career or do something else that might suck?

xD

The one that pays better. Obviously

In regards to the topic, I'd like to see Karl Urban do it

Hardy easily has the physique for it, so that's really not a big deal. Can he match the intensity/short temper/abrasive nature of Wolverine? Remains to be seen. He's done well in several different character styles, so it's plausible.

Les Misérables. Some awards and nominations for that.

Hmm, pie.
