Forums - Movies & TV - Hugh Jackman Thinks Tom Hardy Should Be the Next Wolverine

Has anyone ever asked Hugh Jackman what exactly he plans to do instead? I mean correct me if I'm wrong but I can't recall him landing any other big roles really. He's a fairly one dimensional actor. I don't see him getting much better work than the Wolverine gig.

I mean he did that Australia movie....which sucked. He did...what was it, Real Steel or something like that? Which sucked. Van Helsing. Sucked.

The one good movie I remember with him that's unrelated to Xmen was The Prestige, and Christian Bale pretty much stole the show in that one.

He's actually a stage actor, dancer and singer, so he'd probably prefer to go back to and stay with musical theatre. Which while I think that would be a loss for movies if it makes him happier then I say go back to what you love. I also think he'd be great in season 3 of True Detective, if he was sill keen on some screen gigs.

Christian Bale stole the show in The Prestige? Wha...? You're the first person I've ever heard say that. I thought Hugh Jackman's performance iin that film was fantastic.

In recent years, he's also been in Prisoners, which was amazing. Chappie, which I haven't seen, and that new Peter Pan film. I'd consider all of those big roles, though not Wolverine big.

After Mad Max, no thanks. Tom Hardy doesn't have the skill to portray a badass.

Have you seen the movie Bronson? Trust me, Tom Hardy can play a badass.

Well , Hugh Jackman is 6'7 ? and Tom Hardy is probably somewhere around 5'9 ?

that's already a plus for me , one of the issues with jackman was his height , Logan should be around 5'4 to 5'7 ?

LOL! Perhaps 6'7 is a bit of a stretch :P. Although 6'2ish is tall for Wolverine who's supposed to be about 5'6. Hardy is still around 5'9ish but he might fit the bill.

Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.

Can he achieve the Wolverines body?

Hugh Jackman trained literally years to represent that character. There is an interview that on the last Wolverine movie, that was the first time that he was satisfied with what he thought Logan would look in real life, cutting all the water off his body to film the shirtless scene.

I dont think Hardy would be that commited to the role IMO.

P.D. He is an amazing actor, dont get me wrong.

Yes. He is easily equal in a movie like "Warrior" to how Jackman was in the first xmen movie. Give it time and he could possibly meet the same stature that Jackman is, even though he is jacked as hell.
