They're gonna have to push real hard for Mario to outsell Splatoon.

IIRC, there is no console bundle with SMM, which is pretty dumb, and I think that alone means that it won't outsell Splatoon.

At first, I thought it was going to be easy, but I wasn't expecting Splatoon to be this huge.

So... I don't know.

It's much more worthy of higher sales so it should. However I feel advertising Mario Maker in the US might be awkward just due to it's release date

I went to EB Games yesterday at they had the entire doorways leading in covered with Mario Maker stuff, and very few PS4/XOne. The Mario Maker advertising on the door alone took up 50-60% of the ad space.

Granted I'm in Canada so it's not as awkward haha. But if they advertise like that in most of the shops and make the people aware, this should sell fantastic.

And once Youtubers flood their channels with them playing levels it might help a ton.

Well I've seen that too, but what I mean is tv ads and such. The current MM ads say 11th of September which sounds a lot better, however, people are still really sensitive about that date here (Im fine with it but when you see a MM ad on YT you often see people complain about the date in the comments). The reaction probably wouldnt be as bad in rl as it is on YT, but I could see the news using it to stir up controversy where it doesnt exist (like Tomodatchi Life)

I honestly think it will happen. Even though it won't outsell it in Japan, the rest of the world will make up the difference I feel.

Agreed, I'm sure some news station would probably make a comment on it *cough* FOX *cough*.

But any attention at all that it would give Mario would be good attention honestly. It would be giving it free publicity and I can't imagine anyone not buying the game because of the day it releases. But then again, some people are complete whackjobs

Not worldwide.

Nevermind

They still need to push the game pretty hard to outsell Splatoon.

I think so. I predict Splatoon to do around 3 million LT at most, while I think Super Mario Maker will have 3 million at least. Or I could just say I guess Splatoon will do around 3m and Mario Maker around 3.5m.

Ok,now. I'm not sure how Mario Maker will sell, it can even sell 4-6 million for what i know. that said.Hope you are joking with this, right? RIGHT???

Have you at least see this?

Or this?

Splatoon will do over 3 million by end of this year. there is no way for this game sell 3 million lifetime, 3.5-4 million absolutely worst scenario.

And i remember when i was crazy when i predicted those numbers. Now, if you guys STILL think Splatoon will be under 3 million, no offense, the only crazy people are you.

Will Splatoon sell 5 million? Maybe not.

Will Splatoon sell 3 million? Don't me laugh.

I can see SMM being the main bundle game for the Wii U for the rest of the gen in all the world so possibly. Also Splatoon's legs in the US isn't close (relatively) to what they are in Japan, so I could see it happening.

And I don't think Splatoon will sell 5 million..
