The campaign is the only thing I care about for Halo 5. If it's not up to snuff then I don't buy the product.
Really couldn't care any less for multiplayer in video games these days.

I imploringly hope 343 chose the most unimpressive campaign mission for the gamescom demo. To me halo means impressive Space panorama, spectacularly staged fights and entertaining/fun vehicle passages. Instead I only saw boring non-stop shooting in grey spacestations.
I´m also not yet convinced with the co-op focus: On one hand there really were a couple cool scenes, in which I felt part of a team. And the different story and gameplay aspects of the individual characters may be able to motivate me to replay some missions.
On the other hand Halo 5 seemed to be more of a multiplayer shooter during the shown mission. In the level design as well as with the innumerable amount of display messages. What stays behind is the hope , that the single player campaign sold itself under value at this gamescom. End of october we will know more

Yup...RO friggin rocked |
Looks good to me, and from what iv seen and read, could be the best Halo game ever made. If they don't like the campaign then there's always the multiplayer.
Unless they have played the entire game I wouldn't be judging too early.

But people who are going for multiplayer have a lot of other games to play this fall. COD, Star Wars: Battlefront etc. Also so far it looks a lot less impressive than Destiny. So looking at that game's ratings...

Basically they are saying that they hope 343 showed off the least interesting parts of the campaign, as it felt very bland to them, and that the coop has it's moments, but felt too much tacked on without giving them a real feeling of teamplay at work.
Edit: dam, ninja'ed
They showed off one of the first missions in the game, almost every Halo game starts out on a small scale space station and later on is introduced to the large scale environments. Honestly, that was barely even an article. It didn't go into depth about anything shown.

I've been told Halo is the pioneer and pinnacle of multiplayer FPS.
If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Weird...the game looked pretty damn good when I played it at SDCC.
A poorly translated excerpt from a German mag doesn't really tell me much. Every Halo game has at least one "non-stop shooting down grey corridors" level. Usually as the opener to introduce game mechanics in a linear, controlled environment. And I remember the demo they showed at E3 looking pretty damn cool.
Meh, we'll see in October I guess. :D
