So Rare announced a new IP called Sea of Thieves which is sort of an open world MMO pirate game. After looking around a bit I already see people ruling out the game though just because of the fact that their new game is not a sequel to a game like Banjo-Kazooie or something like that. So i'm asking you here what are your thoughts on it?

Even if you wanted Banjo-Threeie or something like that from Rare's new game, i'm just glad they are doing something new and creative. I will admit the reveal trailer was kind of shitty though, didn't really show any gameplay or explain what the game is about aside from the fact that the game is about pirates. Reminds me of the first Super Mario 3D World trailer where everyone judged it too quickly and then ate crow shortly after when a new trailer came out.

It does look beautiful though, the art style is great.

I expected more. Its first person AC IV. But lets see how it folds up.

I would have preferred it if it were third person. I'm also not digging the art style. Is this Unreal Engine semi-cartoonish looking style becoming a thing now? 

The problem I find with these types of MMO games is that they always seem awesome in concept, but there either absolutely no in-game set pieces, or the set pieces feel incredibly contrived. Without set pieces, I find that sometimes these games can get stale fast. But I'm not an MMO person, so maybe MMOs just aren't for me.

Still, my love for pirate-themed anything cannot be understated. This has the potential to be something amazing, and if it is, it will be the reason I end up buying an XB1.

Looks intriguing to me. I want to see more game announcements like this! Something a bit different.

Sea Of Thieves I think looks very interesting

So, after hitting Banjo & Kazzoide so many times in the last months, they went with something new? Ok...

I will watch the conference later.
