I would have preferred it if it were third person. I'm also not digging the art style. Is this Unreal Engine semi-cartoonish looking style becoming a thing now?
The problem I find with these types of MMO games is that they always seem awesome in concept, but there either absolutely no in-game set pieces, or the set pieces feel incredibly contrived. Without set pieces, I find that sometimes these games can get stale fast. But I'm not an MMO person, so maybe MMOs just aren't for me.
Still, my love for pirate-themed anything cannot be understated. This has the potential to be something amazing, and if it is, it will be the reason I end up buying an XB1.
