i don't know the exact numbers for both games you've mentioned. XCX only has 3.5 star review from amazon.jp but did get good reviews from several jap gaming sites. so it may outsell XCX. its fine, if the gamers doesn't like the style of XCX it seems.

So you're saying that because Splatoon smoked W101 then Splatoon is the next mega selling new Nintendo IP? W101 was a huge disappointment in sales, how is blowing the crap out of that game in sales proof of greatness? It's proof Splatoon isn't a flop, so there is that to celebrate.

I'm not sure how I am being skeptical, I'm saying 400K in Japan is very doable. That makes Splatoon the 7th best selling Wii U game in Japan... EVER, beating well reviewed games from several existing IP by a large margin. When the hell did that become skeptical?

No, is not the new mage Nintendo IP because have sold more than W101, but is the new super Nintendo IP because outsold games like Mario 3DWorld and Monster Hunter tree that are super massive IP.

In UK Splatoon was the confirmed 5° best seller on WU first week, and is dropped by only -50% in the second week.

That is, is fact, not a opinion, Splatoon is a game with the massive sales, and one of the best WU seller so far.

Key note for yourself read what's in the post instead of trying to put words in people's mouth, outselling W101 highlights how far off skeptics were to begin with saying it can't do this and that, W101 sold 300k WW which Splatoon has hit in Japan in two weeks and that's Japan alone, at this point you should learn it's best to wait and see before declaring what it can't do.

Hang on! Splatoon is going to get first week sales, globally, of roughly 500K (retail) and that is massive now? If that is massive it's with with one huge great * being massive *for a Wii U game. Which is not in any way actually massive. And you are actually quoting MH tri as an example when 1- MH is only big on portable platforms now, and 2- it's a last gen port and its on 3DS as well on which it has sold almost 2 million in Japan?

Also I just said " That makes Splatoon the 7th best selling Wii U game in Japan" does that not equal Splatoon being one of the best Wii U sellers so far? Why are you arguning with me? And globally that is also likely to be the case.

I'm just trying to figure out why beating W101 means anything beyond Splatoon is not a flop. And I don't think anyone thought it would do that badly. I know I mentioned W101 in connection to Splatoon in a thread last year saying that new IP doesn't seem to do well on Nintendo home consoles anymore (motion control craze aside). But I never said Splatoon would sell as low as W101. So are you making up excessively low expectations for the purposes of trying to make out that Splatoon has vastly exceeded such expectations, when in fact no such expectations ever existed? Aside from my past forumn activity which did not actually suggest W101 level of sales, I don't recall anyone else making a serious claim that Splatoon would sell as badly as W101. Happy to be corrected on this.

Does that mean the stock is still quite low? 

Splatoon is a success, since its already moved more WiiU hardware then MK8 in Japan.
Also second week sellthru of 90% is a serious feat too.
