I'm not sure how I am being skeptical, I'm saying 400K in Japan is very doable. That makes Splatoon the 7th best selling Wii U game in Japan... EVER, beating well reviewed games from several existing IP by a large margin. When the hell did that become skeptical?

Key note for yourself read what's in the post instead of trying to put words in people's mouth, outselling W101 highlights how far off skeptics were to begin with saying it can't do this and that, W101 sold 300k WW which Splatoon has hit in Japan in two weeks and that's Japan alone, at this point you should learn it's best to wait and see before declaring what it can't do.

I'm just trying to figure out why beating W101 means anything beyond Splatoon is not a flop. And I don't think anyone thought it would do that badly. I know I mentioned W101 in connection to Splatoon in a thread last year saying that new IP doesn't seem to do well on Nintendo home consoles anymore (motion control craze aside). But I never said Splatoon would sell as low as W101. So are you making up excessively low expectations for the purposes of trying to make out that Splatoon has vastly exceeded such expectations, when in fact no such expectations ever existed? Aside from my past forumn activity which did not actually suggest W101 level of sales, I don't recall anyone else making a serious claim that Splatoon would sell as badly as W101. Happy to be corrected on this.
