It rumors are true about 2K teaming with Joe Montana and MS securing the rights to the NFL license to release an exclusive Madden killer, I'm not so PS4 will run away with it. The megton of something like that in the US can't be ignored.

Please...a non-official football game. How did that 400 million NFL deal work out?

If it weren't official, than yeah. But the rumors are that it's like the MLB contract. MS can make a licensed NFL game as long as it's not third party just like Sony did with The Show. What makes this even more interesting is that 2K is developing it... you know, the Madden killers?

If 2k is making an offically licensed NFL exclusive and it's as groundbreaking as the rumors suggest, that shit would be beyond anything ANYONE has as far as the US is concerned.

Just my opinon though. I don't have a pony in this race (retro gamer).

It's selling pretty well at its current price so I think they'll just make some black friday deals and call it a day (unless the Xbone goes down to $249 lol).

Having said that, I hope that it's $299 by the time FFXV comes out , since that's when I plan to buy it.

Actually the NFL lisence states no exclusive for all official NFL gaming contracts. This was already debunked on neogaf.

Once Halo is crossed off the Xbox One's chalk board, doom articles will follow only solidifying the PS4 as the dominant console from this point on.

It would be stupid to release an exclusive Madden. What makes Madden sales is the fact that it's on EVERYTHING, so being exclusive to any console (or brand, like if it appeared only on 360 and One) would be detrimental to sales.

That's why I said "if" lol.

I wouldn't be surprised if we see a price cut a few weeks before October 27th (Halo 5 Release). Now by how much, that is a different story. I'll say this, Sony could really steal some console sales if they dropped down to $299 weeks before Halo 5. I think it'll be down to $349, but if they wanted to to damage $299 is the spot.

Hell I want a PS4 for the exclusives and $299 is the sweetspot for me. Already have an XB1, it'll be interesting.

Safe odds are on a PS4 price cut just in time for the 2015 holiday season. The only question is how much and what bundle will be included at that price.

I'm thinking a $349 MSRP for whatever holiday bundle SCE has this year is the conservative choice. If they want to go big, they'll drop down to $299, and that's riding the assumption that the BoM of the new PS4 redesigned model has been significantly reduced to compensate for the MSRP drop.

I have a feeling a price cut may happen at the end of the year, but certainly not around E3. The PS4 is selling too well for them to drop price now.

Historical precedence indicates that Sony will do a pricecut this year. So the question is not a matter of if, but when and by how much.

There are pros and cons from doing a $50 vs. a $100 pricecut. Sony can either opt to cut the price by $50 since that will allow the company to reap in more revenue per console. However, a $100 pricecut has the potential to actually earn Sony more money. Yes, less money will be earned per console, but it will generate more hardware sales than a $50 pricecut and consequently, increase software sales and PS+ subscriptions.

So it really boils down to what Sony sees. If the company thinks higher software sales and PS+ subscriptions from a $100 pricecut will generate more revenue than a $50 pricecut, then $299. Otherwise, $349.

I think a cool strategy would be if sony made a campaign announcing a $100 price cut for a limited time (such as 1 month or 6 weeks) and instead of returning the price back to $399, making the new price $349, they could announce the strategy from the beginning or keep it to themselves like when microsoft did it. It would give an insane amount of sales on the limited period while giving it a nice long term boost with the $50 permanent price cut, noone's done that before. Or maybe I'm crazy and it would be a stupid idea, what do you guys think?

I am sorry guys but 299$ is not going to happen any time soon. Mid 2016 at the absolute earliest. It will officially go down to 349$ at E3 and there it will stay until 2016 E3 or 2016 Holiday.
