It's not much of a big deal. Smash bros is pretty much becoming the everybody's fighting game nowadays so they can put any characters in it and it won't mean that much.

Well its not like they need a deal. Ryu in SSB just means they have the most iconic fighting game character in the roster and easy DLC cash.
I'm not that excited at the possibility of Ryu being in Smash. Mostly because I believe that his moveset is going to be boring.

If all Ryu did in Smash was fireballs, upper cuts, and hurricain kicks, it still wouldn't be boring.

No, Capcom's terrible handling of that game, and the fact that 99% of the west has no clue who any Tatsunoko character is, explains the game's low sales.
