Because it's an old game for one thing. It can be bought for like $10 now. It doesn't need a remaster.

It's a reason for them not to include backward compatibility.

If they remastered God of War I-Ascension that makes more sense.

If they would include backwards compatibillity the ps4 would end being larger, having cell cpu in it, costing 600$+ and with 10% failure rate

Well, I didn't actually complain about this but if I were to, it would be cause I have a ps3 and I dont want to play more ps3 games on a ps4 if you know what i mean

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

That wouldn't fit in one disc. God Of War III is 35GB and God Of War: Ascension is 36GB, so it would not even fit in one disc, and two discs would have been costly and inconvenient.

That would be true, but they could do it via emulation or at least try (like the 360 tried). If that doesn't work give us a power based converter add-on for like $70.

The reason Sony doesn't want BC is because they want to sell us old games like this. God of War III does not in any way need a remaster. The fact is Sony doesn't have enough original games for the PS4 to even warrant this remaster... there's still no Uncharted 4, Gran Turismo 7, Guerilla Games WRPG, etc. etc. yet they are remastering a 2010 game that looks good still.

then someone could say, don't buy it. no one is forcing anyone to buy it. this game isn't stopping god of war 4 or any other game for that matter from being made for the ps4. it's just another game added to ps4's library.

You don't have to buy it, its not a compulsion.

But its great for those who do want to play it again, with higher resolution and better framerate, like me. Its also cheaper than most remasters. Besides most remasters on PS4 are made by third party.

I'm just confused that is the third one getting the remaster, intead of the first one.

I seems to me that they want to get people excited for GOW 4.  GOW 3 explains GOW 1 and 2's story.  GOW 3 has one hell of an open ending and it definitely leads to whatever is coming next from the franchise.  Also, its will be an absolute treat for those new to the series or PlayStation hardware.

Because it's not going to release on the Xbox One.

Actually most of the hate I've seen on this site isn't from isn't from Xbox players

Ltd predictions by the time 9th Gen comes out

Ps4:110million

Xbox one :75 million( was 65)

Wii u: 20 milliion

No one truly understands the business rationale for the remasters....

It's not just a simple money grab like all the haters think; it's a conversion to x86. This assures backwards compatibility for the foreseeable future.

The ps6 will be able to play these remasters, and the next gen of PS Now will be able to play these games even after server hardware upgrades (no custom hardware like the ps3 blades).
