Gamecube:

-No online  MP (Don't make me laugh by mentioning one or two games)

-Crappy small discs with many games requiring 2.

-No game diversity.  It had platformers, paper mario, and a couple of other Nintendo staples.  Meanwhile PS2 had FFX, Socom, MGS, platformers like crash/spyro/Rachet and Clank, and unique games like Jack and Daxter and dozens more.

Are you SERIOUSLY taking off for no online MP for the Gamecube?  Online MP was NOT a big thing until the PS3/360 generation.

Also for the game diversity, I find it strange that you're simplifying the Gamecube titles to just platformers, paper mario, and other "staples."  I think if you researched this, you'd know how cherry picked your statement is.  PS2 did have more games, but the Gamecube DID have diversity as well.

MP don't matter?  SOCOM and BF2 say "Hi".  They worked very well, and in fact they worked better than even the Wii's MP.

How was the gamecube a dissapointment? it got plenty of multi plats in the beginning espacially from western devolopers? And it got some good mature exclusives like resident evil the best looking game in this generation. It was the best nintendo console ever made.
Thats the way nintendo should go and stick with it, evetually their consoles would sell. Their problem is this whole changing around every new generation with new consoles, you never sure what you get with nintendo which scares a lot of people off

What?

Gamecube had Mario Sunshine, Zelda Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, Metroid Prime 1/2, Tales of Symphonia, Star Wars Rogue Squadron 2/3, Pikmin 1/2, Fire Emblem, Baten Kaitos, Smash Bros Melee, Luigi´s Mansion,  Eternal Darkness, Waverace, , F- Zero GX, Mario Kart DD, etc etc etc

How is that "No game diversity"

The concept behind the Gamecube was solid, but the hardware and support just wasn't there.

The support from "gamers" really wasn't there, it's not cool to have a purple lunch box

We reap what we sow

have you played DKCTF?
3D world?
zelda ALBW?

even on wii, mario galaxies, xenoblade?

If nintendo can't impress (in a good or bad way) you even with all the things they have done with their consoles and games, then gaming in general should be nothing impressive for you

Pretty much this...

You made me laugh by the fact that online is important to you for the 6th gen, it was just some beta testing but nothing serious at that point in time. The ps2 didnt even supported online in PAL regions.

Yes the gamecube had game diversity more than the original xbox even. The gamecube had games like mgs twin snakes, resident evil, final fantasy chronicles, the first tales of symphonia, geist, metroid along the other nintendo IPs.

discs werent an issue at the time. See PS1 and dreamcast. And so did PC games like doom 3 and silent hill 2 or other console ports. These games had 3 cd discs.

You're rewording what I said.  I said that online multiplayer was not BIG during that generation.  If online was such a big deal for that generation, why didn't the PSN exist until after the PS2/GC generation was over?

It's funny because right now the Wii-U offers a more diverse selection of games compared to the PS4. All the PS4 has delivered on is hype. Yet OP somehow thinks it has a large library.

It does have a huge library. It's just full of ports, remakes, remasters and dissapointing titles. Also Indies. But those are everywhere.

- Online multiplayer wasn't huge on the PS2 either.

- The Gamecube had 23 games which required two discs, the PS2 had 16 games which required two (or even three) discs.

- Resident Evil (TPS/Surival Horror)? Tales of Symphonia (ARPG)? Baten Kaitos (Card RPG)? Metroid Prime (First Person Action Adventure)? Legend of Zelda (Action Adventure)? Eternal Darkness (Psychological Horror)? Star Wars: Rogue Squadron II & III (Space Shooter/TPS)? MGS: Twin Snakes (Stealth Action)? Skies of Arcadia Legends (Turn Based RPG)? Phantasy Star Online (Online ARPG)? Battalion Wars (RTS)? Pikmin (RTS)? Killer 7 (Action)? Fire Emblem (SRPG)? Animal Crossing (Life Sim)? Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles (Multiplayer ARPG)? The only genre the GC seemed to be lacking was racing. Also Crash and Spyro were poor quality by the time the PS2 came out. Crash came on the Gamecube as well, but it didn't matter because the games were rated in the 60's.  R&C/J&D were the good Sony platformers then.

"Maybe it has been too long since Nintendo has grabbed me. Maybe I'm too old. Maybe when I look at Nintendo games today, I wonder why I'd bother when I have...you know, grown-up games I have to catch up on."

No more needs to be said.

Agreed. This tells us everything we need to know about the author.

This fits almost every single time:

"Critics who treat 'adult' as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms.   When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up." -C.S. Lewis
