I'd say that Directors are more important than actors, but there are a few actors whose movies I pay attention to more than others (Michael Fassbender, Edward Norton, Bill Murray, Harrison Ford, Tom Hardy...)

Why though? If you really like your favourite actor's performances in certain films, wouldn't you want to see all of the different kinds of roles that they have taken over the course of their career?

Directors have much more control of a movie than the actors do. Typically, directors also have a specified style where actors tend to be more versatile (the exception often being comedians who tend to have a comedic style). There are plenty of terrible movies with great actors, but I'd say there are far fewer terrible movies with great directors. A great director makes great movies, a great actor enables great directors to make great movies.

Just recently started collecting movies. Making my way to build an impressive tom hanks collection. So far I have Green Mile, Forest Gump, Saving private ryan, Toy story trilogy and outcast

I collect movies based on how good they are.

I dont but I have a friend that for some unknown reason collects Adam Sandler movies. This is not a typo, he collects Adam Sandler movies.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

Not really, but I have over a dozen movies with De Niro. Well, he was in great movies, but he also did a lot of crap in the last two decades.

And I don't have a favourite actor.

mostly directors and the winner for now is Akira Kurosawa probably my favorite director.

but I do have a bunch of Jackie Chan and Jet Li movies mostly from the 80s and early 90s when martial arts movies used to be great.

Keiner kann ihn bremsen, keiner macht ihm was vor. Immer der richtige Schuss, immer zur richtigen Zeit. Superfussball, Fairer Fussball. Er ist unser Torschützenkönig und Held.

James McAvoy is one of my favorites. Shia Labeouf (is good), Robert Downey Jr, Adrian Brody, Benedict Cumberbatch, Arnold, Sharlto Copley, Hugh Jackman, Simon Pegg & Nick Frost, Ryan Gosling, Joseph Gordon Levitt... I could go on. Seen ALOT from these peoples films.

I will say on the subject of great directors vs great actors. They go hand and hand. A great director can make a meh movie if his actors dont fit the part (ex Ang Lee Hulk movie) the movie can really not work. Obviously great actors can be in shit films too. But i think actors can definitely make a movie better and they certainly will make a film thats bad likable just from their performance (ex Bad Lieutenant (nic cage)).

I never liked Shia Labeouf. Then I watched Fury and he blew me away. He deserves an Oscar nom for that performance.

Alot of people give him shit but honestly hes consitantly in atleast decent films. Holes, Constantine, I-Robot, The Greatest Game Ever Played (awesome flick) Disturbia, Transformers, Indiana Jones, Eagle Eye, Wall Street Money Never Sleeps, Lawless, Charlie Countryman. Not the same character in every film. Underrated actor tbh.

Transformers doesn't deserve to be in the same sentence as "decent". It is one of the most universally despised pieces of cinema to come out in the last decade...

With good direction, he can be pretty good, but I don't really find him to be anything special

Also, he gets a lot of flak for his whole "going completely insane" thing, which I actually find pretty darn hilarious.
